CW Presents: The Vampire Diaries - Part 1

I'm late to the show but I started watching this show on Netflix and find it interesting so far. I'm on Season 2 now. I had tried watching this show years ago but couldn't stand it.

I like the show overall now but I really hate Elena. She is whinny teenage girl and the actress is terrible (in my opinion). I really like Alaric and wish they would do more with him. I also like the development with the werewolves and looking forward to how their arrival in Mystic Falls upsets the vampires.

Elijah is an intriguing character being so powerful and his plan to kill Klaus who hasn't been introduced on the show yet.

Damn, Enzo really wants to be Damon and Stefan's stepfather....

I kind of feel like it's someone we'll meet later on in the season. It would never be Damon, we know it's not Stefan, bringing Tyler back for that would just stir up shipper feelings and making Matt the James Marsden in the Caroline/Stefan love triangle just seems mean.

Maybe it's Enzo. :o I'm betting on it just being a random guy.

I love how even when the actress is not around, Elena is still the go-to kidnapped victim of the villains.

Have you guys seen these spoilers? Most have been confirmed so I guess the rest will be too. Ugh at [BLACKOUT]Bonnie and Enzo and Caroline carrying Alaric and Jo's baby (WTF?!).[/BLACKOUT]

The second magic-syphoners were in the mix, it was inevitable. The whole magic barrier thing was bound to go wrong at some point, especially considering they knew Lily was looking to get her family back. They would've been better off burying her in an unmarked grave.

Should've put Bonnie with [blackout]Matt[/blackout], though.

Any theories on who is hunting them in the future? One of the Heretics or someone else?

Who do you think is Caroline's fiancé?

I think it might be someone new. Someone who'll be introduced in the next couple episodes.

Random as hell Tyler Lockwood appearance there. Guess Trevino doesn't have a lot going on... Still don't think he's [blackout]Caroline's fiance[/blackout], though.

OMG, Nina.

Leslie-Anne Huff cast as vampire hunter Rayna
EW has learned that Leslie-Anne Huff will play Rayna, a dangerous vampire hunter who returns to the world of the living after being taken out by her enemies. In other words, could this be the woman who shot Beau in the past and/or seems to be hunting Stefan in the future? That’s to be determined.

But what we do know is that, according to her official character description, Rayna is “fierce, driven, smart and confident – a deadly legend who literally cannot rest until her vengeance is complete.” Wait, what do they mean by literally?

We’ll find out when Rayna begins her recurring arc in episode 12.

I'm just curious to see how they make sense of it. The Geminis did that spell at the wedding, which was, what, 4-5 months before this? You think she would've at least felt a kick or something...

Also, after Bonnie's confessional thing last week, I'm worried about Matt. He's really the only major one who hasn't been seen in flashforward yet.

Was she preggers the whole time or at the time of the locator spell?

Tonight's #TVD is the story about the man who killed Elena's brother, and how, as a child, he refused to eat his pet turkey.

I disagree.ratings for both have been dropping.CW is clearly showing VD is not force it once was.

I could see Vampire diaries getting canned at end of season and originals getting a shortened final season for snydication.

They will learn how smallville and Nikita fans felt very soon.

Let's think about this for a second. The CW is co-owned by Warner Bros and CBS. The two lowest performing shows right now, that will almost certainly be the first on the chopping block when the time comes, are Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Reign. Both CBS productions. Beauty and the Beast, another CBS production, is ending soon. Jane the Virgin, also CBS, performs marginally better, but is mostly hanging on by critical praise and accolades. CBS rarely gets as many new shows ordered on the network as Warner Bros. does. TVD and The Originals are WB/CBS co-productions. They both have been posting significant improvements with DVR and Live+3 numbers. I think the CBS half of the network will want to keep them around.

I'm mostly curious to see how The Originals performs for the rest of 2015, now that Scandal's first half is over. I think that's what has mostly hurt TO's live numbers this year so far. I'd have to imagine the overlap between the two is significant.

I'm pretty sure that TheCW is obliged to keep a certain number of CBS productions on their network so I think Reign will be safe in getting renewed.

Perhaps. But, at best, I see it getting the Beauty and the Beast treatment, airing during the summer. Which, on the CW, means getting, like, fifteen viewers.

Yeah, it's kind of irritating to keep that one around while leaving Containment unscheduled, and probably not with a feasible timeslot until the ass-end of the season or the summer.

Then again, pairing Containment with Jane the Virgin wouldn't really make sense, so it doesn't really matter in that regard.
