CW Presents: The Vampire Diaries - Part 1

Oh give me a f***ing break, Primal. This has been far more consistent and good than Arrow has been for the last season and a half, and that show is doing fine. And The Originals hasn't been anything but consistently good and it's in the same boat as TVD.

I think it's pretty clear that being up against Grey's Anatomy and Scandal is what was hurting them both.

But I have enjoyed these past 2 episodes more. But I gimmie more Bonnie!

Gotta say, I really like that Matt reveal at the end. I feel like this turn for the character is a long time coming, considering one of the first things Damon did in the series was killing his sister, and now he's lost the girl he's been closest to since childhood because of their bulls***.

Yeah it is about time they let him be a threat and take control of things.

Jesus Christ, finally they [blackout]kill Julian[/blackout].

Damon actually addressing the fact that the hunter looks like Elena in the promo makes me wonder if there's greater significance to it. Maybe she's the offspring of one of the doppelgangers.

I guess Klaroline is not totally dead in the future. :o

I know, now their shippers will never shut up about them. :o

I don't understand why vampires need cars to get from point A to point B very quickly.

To keep from tiring too quickly, I assume. Especially if you're a vampire that isn't willing to drink any random stranger at a moment's notice to get a pick-me-up.

*Shaking and crying*

GUH. :ilv:

I love how they're all fearing Rayna Cruz and yet she's getting knocked out in every scene. Girl is no real slayer. :o

I'm midway through season 7 right now and I'm impressed by the writers' abilities to come up with new stakes and new villain classes.

I'm at the point where they just confirmed Caroline's pregnancy, and there are a whole bunch of people being compelled to sit down quietly and collect saline water. I'm guessing they're being set up because Caroline will get really hungry as she gets more pregnant, and the Gemini coven twins might be a power source. Don't know.

The extra food might also be for other vampires that will be freed by the red gem who will be born hungry.

I wonder if the sword+stone can be used to kill an original.

ETA: Well, I was wrong about it all. I wonder if this new huntress has anything to do with the five hunters.

ETA: Nope.

ETA: Actually yes, an enhanced hunter !

You know, I've secretly been into the idea of Bonnie and Damon since their moment at the end of the season 5 finale, only I never really believed it would ever turn into anything, but seeing Bonnie being much more significantly torn up over Damon sitting out the next 60-70 years than she was with Elena makes me wonder...

i wouldn't be against damon and bonnie happening.

i think they're described as soulmates in the novels.

Back tonight.

How long has this show been going on? My cousin she's like stalker-ishly involved with these actors on the show.

It's in season 7 now.

Yikes! So i presume it's good and pulls in decent viewing figures?

Yeah. I mean, it was a bigger hit when it started, but as it is now, it's an improvement on Friday nights for the network. As for how good it is, that just depends what you're into (despite riding the overall pop culture wave that Twilight kicked off when the show premiered, it definitely isn't Twilight... but at the same time, the first four seasons have the characters in high school, so do the math) and how patient you are. The first handful of episodes are decent enough, but it doesn't get good good until about 5-6 episodes in, and then it just gets crazy good once they introduce the Originals in season 2.

Just let it die CW. Give it a glorious send off, go back to basics.

I thought the first seasons of TVD were fantastic especially the mythology aspect. I love the whole doppelgänger part of that as well as the Originals. Also, I'll never forget how almost every episode ends with a good cliffhanger or twist. I joined this show late in the game so when I was watching the stronger first seasons, it was coinciding with the decline of True Blood so I was surprised at how much I'm enjoying a friggin' CW vampire show over an HBO vampire show. :funny: There was also a time when Elena was actually a sensible, logical, and likable heroine. While it's cooler to bash her now, I actually think that Dobrev is one of the strongest CW leading ladies (at least in the first few seasons when she is given good material to work with).
