The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Dane Dehaan IS Harry Osborn

What do you think he will sound like, I would like his voice to be like the 90's cartoon but i'm not sure if that would work.

I don't like this design for the Goblin. Looks like generic monster stuff to me (like orcs from LOTR or something). The hair reminds me of a chia pet. I would have preferred a look closer to the comics. People say that's cheesier (for some reason) but really this is just as cheesy, and much less interesting to me.

My only feeling looking at it is "bleh."

I love that design

But for those who dont,Imo the look ultimately doesnt matter
What matters is the acting and the character story line

I remember a lot of guys complaining that Electro looked crap and the Villains in Thor:TDK looked fantastic.Did it matter?
I dont think so since the movie turned out to be a dissapointment

So if the movie is really as good as it is shaping out to be and Dane had knocked it out of the park,no body will worry about how he looks(he looks perfect to me)

That being said, the look did matter in case of The Lizard since he was supposed to be scary looking to build up fear, and they screwed that up

While Goblin looks as creepy as they come

I don't buy your opinion that only acting matters. Both acting and appearance matter.

Bad acting can render the appearance irrelevant no matter how good it looks. Bad appearance can be made palatable at least by a great performance. That's how it works for me anyway.

Out of the 3 Green Goblin Designs in the Spider-Man movies this is by far the best iteration.

I liked the Dafoe one better. Yes, it was a mask, but it looked overall more like the comics in shape and aesthetic, instead of the two Harry Goblins, which just strike me as awfully generic.

I haven't liked the look so far, but I love that picture. Just that one picture though.

The Dafoe mask isn't what bothered me as much, that armor looked terrible, I like how some of this armor is embedded into Harry's skin and has a more unfinished look to it.

It just struck me... this looks like what would happen if you Jokerize the Goblin. They've basically tried to make him look dirty and whatnot like Heath's Joker.

The mask in Spidey 1 looked like crap, simple, and I like the GG in the movie. This is a thousand times better, at least, they're making an effort into making him look a bit goblinish, but I'm one of those "go the Ultimate route, fully organic" fellows.

The fact that it looked more like the comics didn't make it better. On the contrary, actually. Some designs from the comics can not be translated well into screen. I consider the goblin design one of them. When it comes to the Green Goblin, you have three options really. Either you go with the 616 design, which i think it looks campy, the Ultimate design, which is hated by most fans, or you create something new entirely.

Where we differ is that you think campy is automatically bad, whereas I embrace it as one of the things that makes Spidey so enjoyable.

I understand that and it's cool, but i don't think that the GA shares your opinion. We are all Spidey fans here and i want to see something similar to the comics as much as you do, but the GA is the main source of revenue of these movies and the last thing you want is to put something laughable on screen. The fans might appreciate it, but most people would laugh their a$$es off (the same thing they would do if the filmmakers had gone with the original Electro's design).

I never hated or liked the mask in Raimi's first film, I remember how big the fan backlash was at that time, I just embraced it and really enjoyed the film overall, Willem was an amazing Green Goblin and never let the costume design ruin the overall experience for me.

I love it too.

I called this design years ago...minus that suit :hehe:

That's not Goblin. That's Evil Ed's long lost brother with a troll doll hair, a dirty face, and bad dental hygiene.

It looks so bad.

Yes it does... for YOU!

He looks creepy and awesome. Gone is the tacky power-ranger villain look of Raimis.

Come on man, you posted this two times in this thread and one in the general discussion. Okay we get it, you don't like it.

I think the facial features are spot on for Green Goblin in that picture. The eyes, grin, nose and all that. But it should be more green, and no not the kind of green we've seen in manips, but I'm thinking more like the kind of green Lizard is in TASM. And he should have pointy ears and a cap or a hood. And obviously I think it should've been Norman wearing a mask :/

He wouldn't have a theatrical costume and pointy ears.

He's degenerating, not mutating.

And the costume is to give him the strength.

Sounds like how goblins look to me.

Also, Raimi's GG was not Power Ranger-esque.
