If it continues with $500K days through Thursday and a $1.6 million weekend (around 50% down) it will be just over $227 million by Monday July 7th. Now, these numbers are just the minimum of what I think it will make this week. I don't know how much the holiday will help or the percentage drop for the weekend (I'm sure it'll be lower than 50% I made up), so this could very well be at $228 million by the 7th depending on how well the holiday helps.

Looking at the calendar, DOFP should hit the $230 million mark sometime on the weekend of July 11-13. By then, the gap with X3 will have lowered to ~$2 million.

With new films opening wedsdays and what it made on monday i think it's unlikely to outgross Last Stand domesticly.I would like to be wrong there.

Keep in mind that 2006 X3, s high Monday was July 3rd, the day b4 the 4th. Most people had monday off on a four day weekend for that July 4th.

It's wonderful seeing that in terms of worldwide BO, X-Men has beat a Spider-Man and a Marvell film. Never thought I'd see the day. And with much less promotion , no movie tie-ins, action figures etc. So happy for the future now. Fox and co need to be smart about their next moves.

Looking pretty GOOD for a 725mil WW total maybe even 730-735mil.

Thats a HUGE WIN considering no IMAX screens and an UTTERLY BAD schedule.
XDOFP had more competition that it should have. CAP2 TWS had a walk in the park calendar on the other hand.
That makes the win over CAP2 TWS even bigger.

Congrats XMEN.

plz plz plz FOX dont screw up Apocalypse.

Don't really care about any of that, or Transformers....

We're watching DoFP in here.

I know it was because the holiday BUT xmen still had a better 4 day opening that transformers making it the biggest 4 day of 2014 domestically!

It's more than just the icing on the cake. As a fan the quality is obviously important but as a fan you also need a big box office if you're going to get more movies.

LOL of course you need great box office for sequels.

I just said I am MORE pleased with the critical praise than the BO, doesnt mean Im not pleased with the BO, hence it's just icing on the cake FOR ME.

I'd take X-Men First Class critical receptim success over a Transformers billion dollar BO success any day.

Yes and I mentioned all the 'best of' figures for DoFP and the other 2014 blockbusters if you scroll back a page.

Tuesday estimate is 550k. So basically it stayed flat yesterday.

Domestically DOFP's first monday was almost twice as good as Transformers, a 59.2% drop.

Dofp first monday was hollydays, while Transformers or any other summer movie didnt have it. So the comparision is not on par

I know, but I was desperately looking for something positive before this [redacted] of a movie passes DOFP's WW total. :)

I wonder if this passes spiderman overseas. Gonna be close!

It might, if it makes about 10 million or so more in Venezuela it could get really close and crawl its way past ASM2 over seas numbers.

My local theater is down to just one DOFP show a day, so it looks like we're nearing the end.

But the theater a block from my office still has a bunch of shows left, so I might go for one more since we're closing early tomorrow.

I just had to log back on to say I'm so happy this is the highest grossing movie of the year. I know that Mike Bay's hsit hsow of a movie will more than likely surpass this and will probably make a Billion at the box office, but whatever. We won guys!!! :)

Going into the holiday weekend here in the States, it's only showing in a few of the multiplexes and with reduced showtimes (2-3 a day) in my area. I think it's the beginning of the end. I'm not expecting much of a holiday boost.

Prediction (my) is 326 million for Wednesday, still beating X3. Looking for a bigger July3rd as its the last day Dofp is expanded in theaters. I think it will go limited under 999 on Friday. Does anyone know?
