I also need a White Canary/Black Canary spin off. These two just sell their scenes so good and genuine.

My thoughts on finding a way for Laurel Lance to live instead of killing her off stupidily:

Instead of being killed off, the writers could have easily had DD take Oliver, Laurel, Quentin hostage. In order to get back at Oliver, DD tortures Laurel and Quentin and ends up killing Quentin in front of Oliver and Laurel. Spartan and Speedy come in, Speedy faces off against DD and everyone gets away. Que Canary Cry where Laurel/Oliver reminisces on Quentin’s life.

Green Arrow and co. are hellbent on stopping DD, Black Canary has the opportunity to kill DD but doesnt since she wants him to spend the remainder of his life rotting in prison instead of granting him a quick death. Green Arrow decides to pull a Giles and kills DD instead since he knows that Laurel is a better person then he is. The season ends with Laurel deciding to leave Star City since she needs to find herself and what she feels life has in store for her. She quits the DA office, says her goodbyes and leaves.

Season 5 remains largely unchanged (I havent watched 99% of it so&#8230 instead of all the honoring Laurels legacy, it is honoring Quentins. Quentin has always known that Oliver can be a better person and he doesnt want him to let that darkness take him over. Laurel Lane however has been MIA from Star City for quite awhile, the teamhasn’t really heard that much from her, they just know that she is traveling. She’s gone for the first half of the season. The team is fighting Prometheus and someone else (could still be Black Siren or maybe Cupid) with whoever about to kill Felicity when all of sudden

Black Canary is back baby! And there a couple of questions clearly needing answering…the episode ends and the next one picks up with Laurel and co. in the Arrow cave. Laurel is now a meta human due to Flashpoint. She has done a rebranding of herself, Laure Lance as we knew her is kind of dead, she goes by Dinah now. On her journey of self discovery she encountered a woman named Lady Shiva who mentored Laurel for almost a year and helped her hone her fighting skills. Black Canary is now a bonafied kickass and ready to get back to Star City. She is Olivers equal, she isnt about letting the past get the best of her. She makes a joke about how she spent some time at a cute little flower shop. Oliver asks her to join his team as his lawyer, she is now back in with the team both in front and behind the scenes.

Everything the writers were scared of doing with her and racking their brains around with trying to get her up to par is now done. Laurel now goes by her first name, is a meta, a kickass fighter with more unique skills, she is done with the petty drama, she is level headed, and her sass level is turned the hell up! Quentin had gotten to a point in S4 where he was close with everyone and his death would still have a big impact, no need to kill off Black Canary and find a replacement.

It would of been an interesting story for Oliver if Laurel became a meta and surpassed him as a fighter like in the comics. He would of been put in a position which would of been uncomfortable for him. Oliver is a alpha male type,I would of liked to see how he would of handled that.

“We have an idea for how to see her again, but we haven’t made a deal with her yet,” he revealed. “She’s not a series regular anymore, so we have to make a contract with her and she’s got to be available, and we haven’t had those conversations [yet]. I think she doesn't mind to show up every now and then but i think her love for the show has more or less faded. She's accepted things and moved back to LA after after they seemingly failed to put her to good use so no need to live with Caity full time.

Okay, but here's the thing. Sara has to get over it eventually. That's natural. Why shouldn't she get closure? And goodness, at least we're getting another Katie appearance. It's better than Sara getting over it without a Katie appearance.

Sara has basically already gotten over it and come to terms that she cant save Laurel so it will just be closure to remind the audience once again that LL is dead. I'm sure it will be a nice scene since KC/CL are best together but lord I've already been hit over the head with it on Arrow in the worst possible way.

Juliana Harveky (DD) recently gave an interview stating that she hopes to have a Black Canary vs. Black Siren showdown. If we ever do, we already know that Siren would lose.

The Lance sisters will reunite on Legends of Tomorrow.

Guggenheim shared on social media that Katie Cassidy would be reprising her role of Laurel Lance in the Legends finale, and he says the scene was a long time coming. "I have to give a shout-out to Katie Cassidy," Guggenheim says. "It's only one scene, but man, she's spectacular in it. It's a scene we've wanted to do since the beginning of the season. We really wanted to get Sara and Laurel back together."

"It was wonderful," adds Lotz. "Katie and I hadn't been able to do a scene together in years. She feels like my sister now, so it was very emotional, nostalgic, and I think people will really like it."
