Someone at Wondercon actually said to MG that they are afraid of Katie returning because her fans are abusive online lol.

It is a standard tactic of liars. Accuse others of what you are doing and do it early & often.

The CW's target demo is Women 18-34. That's not exactly "teenyboppers".

I don't think the CW cares about the Olicity shippers as much as they think.

Maybe she ditched it because a) it might get pulled during a fight, causing injury and b) maybe the stunt woman doesn't want to wear one herself, so Katie ditching it would make it easier to match up.

Katie almost returned to the Flarrow-verse as a series regular on a different show...

I was excited to see Katie was returning as a series regular to “Arrow,” but I honestly had my fingers crossed that Black Siren would become a member of the Legends.

That was something we had talked about. For us, the whole conversation about bringing Katie back as a series regular on “Arrow” began with her performance in the midseason premiere. We briefly spoke about bringing her on “Legends,” but I think from a story perspective we would get far more mileage out of her interacting with the cast of “Arrow.”

Yeah, Olicity was no small part of what went wrong in S3 and S4, its absence in S5 has been an improvement.

BLACK SIREN RETURNS — Black Siren (guest star Katie Cassidy) returns to help Chase (Josh Segarra). Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) organizes a birthday party for Oliver (Stephen Amell) while Lance (Paul Blackthorne) is furious after Rene (Rick Gonzalez) misses the custody hearing for his daughter. Mairzee Almas directed the episode written by Speed Weed & Oscar Balderrama (#522). Original airdate 5/17/2017.

I really hope they have a good reason for Siren helping Chase again (hopefully she ends up turning on him) after he threatened to kill her if she didn't follow his orders and left her to be bait for TA so he could get away.

I think it is simply because she is afraid of him, and as we have seen, they have weakened and dumbed her down to make this possible (like they weakened and dumbed down Barry to give BS a chance against him). I don't think her cry is as powerful as it was on The Flash. There are lots of ways they could make it possible for her to be afraid of him, or want to work for him without weakening and dumbing her down so much, but I do not think they are going to bother and put in much effort in that regard. They are just taking the lazy option.

If Katie is a regular next season, where is she going to be now in the credits? Will she be back in her place as second in the credits, or will she be pushed down lower than Emily Bett Rickards? The way it's looking, Willa Holland probably won't be returning. She's barely been in this season, so her name will probably go, leaving EBR as the main female (which she already is). So where will Katie's name go? Before or after her?

She is totally not taking back her 2nd spot in the credits, she probably took a MAJOR downgrade in $$$. She'll probably be after EBR or she'll get the special "and with" credit at the very end which wouldn't be a bad position for her. MG says Willa will be returning, probably with the same contract she had this season.

I'd say the "and with" credit would probably be the best place for her so as not to diminish her importance.

She really needs to try to do a feature film again, get her name back out there. Arrow basically diminished her star.

Melissa Benoist is doing other films with roles quite different from Supergirl, probably to keep her name out there. Katie should do the same, otherwise she would just be seen as a CW actress.

I hope they were joking. If they are actually turning down an opportunity to make money simply because of a preference like that, then that would be quite ridiculous. Surely there is more to it than just that.
