Arrow Dinah Laurel Lance/Katie Cassidy Thread - Part 4

Her arc should not have ended so soon. There was so much more for her to do and places to go with her character. The fact that she is dead but we still have Quentin and Donna is ridiculous.

I would have had Quentin and Donna both die, myself. That would have justified the gravity of the situation.

The writers probably think so.

Laurel won one of her first polls for favorite superhero in the Flarrowverse

How the blazes can Felicity be a more popular "superhero" than Green Arrow...?

Yet Felicity is second with a commanding lead over the rest?

The two leaders are very shocking to me, over the Flash? Supergirl?

Those two have the most vocal online fanbase so of course both went to great lengths to come out on top.

That show is somehow related to the CWverse but what that is escapes my mind.

Also, Hi everyone! I'm new here. Just want to introduce myself. Can't wait to chat with you all.

I don't think so. I can find nothing that confirms that.

It's a DCTV poll hence Liv Moore and Lucifer main characters on other shoes. Also CBR if I am not mistaken is comic book resource.

Ah, so it was never an Arrowverse poll in the first place, it was a general "everything DC-based" poll. That makes more sense. Though I am really skeptical of the usefulness of the Black Canary victory there; it was probably based purely in "She died, greatest hero ever!" reactionary sentiment.

Honestly I always hated Laurel. Hard. I tried to like her but she always lacked any sort of chemistry with anybody. She just seemed to be out of place. I think the best thing for the whole show would have been if she they had her leave after Sara came back. They could have had her hit rock bottom with her addiction problem and decide to move to another city to start fresh

This could have been an opportunity to shoot a Black Cannary limited series spin off like Agent Carter with people that Katie Cassidy would have actually had chemistry with. The fact that it would have been the first female led superhero show in ages alone would have gathered a lot of publicity and would have been more then worth it for Arrow

Apparently you didn't try to like her character otherwise you wouldn't have defined her likability based on her relationship or chemistry with other characters. Have a very great day you and everyone!

God bless you! God bless everyone!

Well yeah. For me personally unless I am a big fan of the actress from before I have a hard time liking a character if I can't see them connecting with the other characters and fitting well into the show. I liked Katie Cassidy from Supernatural so I tried to give her a chance but she just couldn't cut it. Granted her lack of chemistry was made worse by the crappy writing they give her so the fault is split between her and the writers.

I thinks this could have been fixed if they gave her a spin off show with a cast that she actually has chemistry with but on Arrow? She just didn't do it for me

Well, they had to end it. Otherwise Laurel wouldn't be able to get back to Oliver in the future and become the Green Arrow/Black Canary power couple the writers have spent so much time building up to. I should really start season three to see how well that turns out. I bet they're back together by season four.

:hehe:

Not sure if it's just me, but Katie seems to have gotten even hotter since she left the show.

I was kinda thinking the same thing.... she looks like a burden has been lifted

Yeah, she's always looked hot, but she seems even more so lately. Could be the relief of the burden lifted. Not only that, but the characters on Arrow often don't get to smile very frequently, but now Katie can smile all she wants, and that makes her look even hotter because her smile is really gorgeous.

It's mostly this.

I mean, there was definitely something off about her season 1 and 2. Compared to how she looked in Supernatural and 90210, she looked a bit bigger in the face at times in season 1, not to mention the rumors of making her stuff her bra early on. But then in season 2 she had a really big, sharp, defined chin, which lead to rumors about plastic surgery or sever weight loss.

She looked better in season 3, but she was still wearing a lot of lawyer suits that just didn't work for her, and it wasn't until this season that they seemed to let her style herself, considering she is closely tied to the fashion scene on her own.

But the biggest tell that the problem was Arrow is that when she appeared on The Flash in season 1, she came off a lot more likable in her short scenes there, then she did early on in Arrow, because of how her character was written. She was always angry or bitter with somebody, but on The Flash, she was a bit more carefree and light-hearted and was allowed to smile and it was such a huge contrast to how she appeared on Arrow.
