Her and Oliver were cute together. All that does is make me mad that we will never actually see it happen.

:csad:

If the reaction to her death didnt change their minds, nothing else will. There is a reason why Arrow is now 99% original characters,

Is it?

Ollie, Ragman, Mr Terrific, Wild Dog, Adrian Chase (vigilante) Are all comic characters.

Thea and Artemis are amalgamations of comic characters.

Thea is mostly Mia (and a little bit Emiko) even down to being speedy. So I'll say 75% comic

Artemis is loosely based on the Young Justice version, by the looks of things, but they seem to have changed a more significant portion.

So we're left with Felicity, Digg and Quentin?

Felicity was from the comics too and was Ronnie Raymond's stepmother with 0 ties to Ollie

Mr.T is Curtis who is technically not in the comics, Rene is not Wild Dog in the comics. Thea is still an original character and same with Evelyn. Felicitys name is from comics but nothing about her is. These are all characters who don't have clearly defined destinies like Laurel did.

You know, Amell and Cassidy actually do have decent chemistry when they're allowed to be happy. Who knew?

Primal Slayer. Not sure if you mean that he is not in the GA comics. But, Mr.Terrific is definitely a DC comic character.

Katie was the MVP tonight! I want her back full time!

I agree, she was fantastic. I'll be writing to the CW on their feedback site to tell them how I enjoyed her in this episode and how I want to see her much, much more.

Mr.terrific is but that's Michael Holt not Curtis Holt.

Even though the characters have different names, they could still have parts of their character or storylines based on their comic version. While the writers like to do things "organically", as Guggenheim calls it, they also do take from the comics. While they do not take as much or adapt things as well as people would like, they take more from the comics than people give them credit for. Slade was probably the best, or one of their best adaptions from the comics. They made some changes, but they still took a lot from Wolfman's TT run and Winicks comics and did a great job.

Depending on exactly how you define "original", they have between one and four OCs out of a heroic cast of eight. That's not "99%".

Of course they can take from the comics for the characters but they aren't as obligated to meet certain aspects of the character. We have Sara Lance who is an original character but was still very much Black Canary in her own right.

Well out of a cast of 7 actual series regulars, 2 are actual full blown comic characters who share more then just a name with a comic charater. The other 5 are original characters so when you get down to the nitty gritty, 72% of the cast is original characters.

Only if you use an excessively narrow definition of "actual comic book character". Especially since a couple of the people in question are legacy identities that already had multiple versions in the comics.

Or basically, if Oliver Queen counts as "actual comic book character" despite the radical ways he diverges from basically every comic incarnation, then Curtis Holt Wild Dog should count just fine. Likewise for Artemis and Speedy, both of whom are composite characters.

Oliver Queen is still becoming more Green Arrow as the show has went on. Oliver Queen in DC comics is Green Arrow, Oliver Queen in Arrow is Green Arrow. Oliver has murdered in the comics and gone through dark times.

Curtis Holt is MT in Arrow, Michael Holt is MT in DC comics. Curtis Holt has never existed in DC comics.

Rene is Wild Dog in Arrow, he is not in DC Comics.

Being a composite of characters does not make you an adaption from DC comics. It is still an original character that you can do whatever you want with.

I'd argue that Thea is a original character. I don't recall Oliver ever having a sister in the comics, and even though it's clear that she is names and based off of Mia, the whole relationship dynamic is not the same. She was a prostitute and daughter-figure to Oliver, whereas the closest Thea ever got early on was messing around with drugs, which is more of Roy Harper's arc.

So I'd classify that as a re-interpretation, as opposed to adaptation.

Same goes with Sara. Had Laurel never become Black Canary, it would haven't been right to consider Sara an adaptive version.

They should've went with this wig

They totally could've done a mini crossover with the 3 of them while the other team members are off doing something else.

We deserved soooo much more with these 3

Is this an old pic or did she suit up off camera for a little mugging?:sly:

And does anyone else love the way her hand is resting on Oliver's..?

Damn they really screwed up when they replaced her with Felicity.:cmad:

old pic, that's Oliver's S2-3 suit and Barry has a red emblem from S1.

The Invasion crossover felt wrong without BC being there. I kept trying to picture her standing with the others.

Mr.terrific is but that's Michael Holt not Curtis Holt.

They changed him around a little bit, but he's still olympic athlete, super genius who developed t-spheres and has basically the same costume, (but with braids instead of a fade).

Being a composite of characters does not make you an adaption from DC comics. It is still an original character that you can do whatever you want with.

This depends on what makes the character the character. It's the characterization of someone like Mr. T that makes them who they are, not the character's name, or sexual orientation.

Rene might not be the name of Wild Dog in the comics, but he is still former military, who uses the techniques and same costume. We don't know much about his backstory yet, but he could very well have the same motivations as the Jack Wheeler character, and it might just be a name/ethnicity swap. Effectively making him the same character.

None of this is about Dinah, though so it's a bit off topic.
I thought Katie was great in Invasion.

I wished they would have had a moment where Oliver explained to Laurel it was all a fantasy and about the invasion, and had her tell him he had to go, that he couldn't stay here when the world needed him. But I know they were pressed for time.
