I'm sure all the extras will be on YouTube in no time.

Does the movie seem to be selling well at the stores?

I went to three shops. One seemed to be well stocked, the other had about 7 left, and Target had none of their exclusives and most of their rows empty. The front had a stand with maybe around 15. So very well, at least in my area.

gonna try to make it to Best Buy tomorrow......so hopefully there will be some left.

Her name is Ray Liu and she's the singing voice for Anna in the Taiwanese edition of Frozen (Taiwan's Frozen separated each character into a voice and a singing part). Here she performs Let It Go while playing piano. She is a tremendous talent and a superb singer.

Japan still going nuts for Frozen. Looking at the admissions numbers Wednesday literally doubled from Tuesday in the 4 major chains that have posted numbers.

TOHO is the single biggest chain and went from 21531 to 43281 admissions from Tuesday to Wednesday. Wednesday was Ladies Day so women got discounted tickets and and an increase is normal (kind of like Discount Tuesday here in Canada), but not 100%

Frozen sells 3.2 million discs in 1 day (counting pre-sales ).

I don't really follow DVD/Blue Ray sales as my interest usually only goes as far as boxoffice numbers, but Frozen is an exception, so I'm trying to figure out just how good that number is.

That article mentions Catching Fire sold 3.9m units in it's first weekend of release, so I'm guessing Frozen has until Sunday to add to it's total before we can get a full comparison.
In my mind that is a whopping number since Frozen has been available for digital download for almost a month and is still in the top 10 in theatrical release.

^ 3.2 mil in one day? That's got to be a record, right?

Here's Let It Go in the Best Song category in the Academy Award:

I got it!!! Got my copy of Frozen!! :woot:

Went to my Best Buy, and FREAKED OUT when I saw the empty Frozen display shelves!

I was like..........NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

so I frantically searched other spots of the store and I couldn't find any copies!!! :(

just as I was about to give up, I walked by the new release shelf, and voila!! there they were!! :awesome:

needless to say, I snapped up a copy faster than Elsa and Anna going to town at a chocolate fountain convention!!

The Making of Frozen is one of the best things ever.

Good for you! I'm thinking of buying the DVD version this week or in some week.

Some weekday admission numbers from Japan. These are from the TOHO chain, the largest theater chain in Japan which accounts for 20% of market share.

Tue:21,531
Wed:43,281 (Ladies Day, Discounted ticket price for women)

Thu: 26,909

Estimates in dollars from people who know the Japanese market much better than I do...

Mon- $1.3m
Tues- $1.5m
Wed- $2.4m
Thurs- $1.7m (estimate)

From what I'm hearing, these weekday numbers are huge and Frozen could very well have no drop, or even increase from last Fri-Sun numbers.:wow:

Frozen got some excellent free advertising too, TOHO has opening a brand new theater opening tomorrow, but the Royal family went to a screening of Frozen there yesterday and now it's virtually sold out. Interestingly this theater is only showing Frozen 3D (I can't seem to find how many screens it has).

so just heard on Fox Business that Frozen has become Amazon.com's fastest selling kids movie!!

After the harsh drop yesterday with the Blue Ray release, Frozen goes back to a typical Wednesday drop of -20% with $139,287 (.$396,895,073).

Theater counts for this upcoming week are out too, Frozen still playing at 1,069 theaters, down from 1,466 , -397 (-27.1%)

do you think it will reach $400M by the end of March?

It'll be really close.
Frozen will hit $397m today, this weekend will probably have a pretty harsh drop compared to normal, maybe around 40%, which would be 1.2-1.3m. After that it should stabilize again, with smaller numbers. Probably 500k from weekdays next week and a more normal 20% drop for about 1m. If that holds it would be 399.8 with just the last monday in March left to go.
It'll probably be within 100k over or under 400m

it's just so close......lol.

but yeah.......I'd imagine in a few more weeks, give or take, it should reach $400M.

hopefully the Blu-Ray/DVD sales won't hurt the theater sales too much.
