I truly hope Nolan will do the Knightfall arc justice, but I sincerely doubt it could be done in one movie.

I think the Dark Knight Rises will be a two parter. (Just like the last Harry Potter film).

Who said he was going to do a straight adaptation of Knightfall? At best, he'd incorporate a handful of elements from it, like how he incorporated bits and pieces of Batman #1, The Killing Joke, The Long Halloween, and Year One into TDK and BB. I don't see two movies being made here. I think this will be the last and Nolan will move on to other things.

Bane is a genius brute, the only way he would make sense is if he poses a serieus threat. Bane will break Batman, maybe not his back but atleast his spirit.

He can't do that after 15 minutes of film.

I'm sure they'll leave out Jean Paul etc. but the core idea must exist.

I don't know if anyone's counted the number of minutes that the Joker was on screen, but I know he wasn't present nearly as often as a lot of people were expecting. When he was, though, he made a huge impression and turned out to be the biggest threat that any incarnation of Batman has ever seen on the big screen. Bane could easily be handled in the same way. He'll probably have a bit more screen time than the Joker did because mystery was part of the Joker's allure, but even Hannibal Lecter in the Silence of the Lambs only had a total of 16 minutes on screen.

Nolan doesn't tend to do direct adaptions. I would expect this film to have elements of Knightfall.

A lot of the reason that Knightfall was so long was Batman's other villains, and the interwining stories of Azrael, Robin and Nightwing. Since these characters don't exist in Nolan's franchise as of right now, I don't see why it can't be adapted in a reasonable timeframe in one film, probably between two and a half to just under three hours.

Two parter is just another word for there being two sequels. Unlike Harry Potter, this movie is not based on a book.

I'm calling it now. Bane will break Batman at the 1/2 mark. Then when Catwoman makes a mess of things, Batman will be back by the 3/4 mark. I'm also willing to bet that Bane is going to be apart of the league of shadows to better establish how he's an equal to Batman (Taliah taking Ras's place and Bane taking Bruce's)

I doubt this will be broken into 2 parts. I'd love for it to be as long as Return of the King though. I'm also anxiously awaiting to see more original Nolan movies, like Memento and Inception, after he's done with Batman. As other posters have said, he'll probably take elements from many different story arcs and incorporate them as he as done twice already, which I think is fantastic. I don't particularly want Bane to dominate screen time. I'd rather see more of Bruce Wayne's hardships and how he overcomes them.

I'm also hoping he'll incoporate elements of "Venom" in here. Bruce failing in rescuing a child and him using drugs to boost his power.

That would be really interesting; Batman depressed because of Rachel and then the kid and being dependent on Venom would make him physically and mentally vulnerable, during the withdrawal Bane takes advantage of that situation and leaves him severly injured. Bruce recovers from both situations and comes back to defeat Bane and make sure Venom is destroyed.

I doubt Batman's back will be broken because of 'the realism', but that element could be incorporated like Bane's Signature, eg. Coleman Reese or others guys killed after having their backs broken...

It's most likely a two-and a half hour movie. If he breaks anything, it will probably be around the forty-five minute mark.

I can't see Nolan making two more films though I wish he would! I think it'll be just as long as the Dark Knight was, most likely if not maybe a little shorter.

the recent two-parter bs that other film franchises and their producers are *********ing to exists only because they can drag out the ending to make even more money.

Agreed. Although aspect from stories may be present, the film story itself will be an original work (or as original as can be).

I think the Joker had just under 30 minutes of screentime in TDK...but yeah, those 30 minutes made a HUGE impression. They can do the same thing with Bane in around the same amount of time. Knightfall could be done in a 2.5 hour movie, if you cut out the storylines of characters not in the Nolanverse as someone else said.
