I wanna throw Benicio Del Toro into the mix. He might have to loose a few kilos, but I think he has what it takes to play a fantastic Strange.

On second thought, scratch that, Richard Coyle would be the PERFECT Stephen Strange!

who ever they get, i just hope they go for the vincent price look with the pencil mustache rather than the gaunt look with gottee, i think the vincent price look is more unique and has more character to it.

Since there is no official Dr Strange film thread (probably because there is no official Dr strange film...) I didn't know where else to post this.

It's a script written by Alex Cox (the guy who did Repo Man) in 1989.

I thought it would be interesting.

Caveziel. Just check out his look in 'The Count of Monte Cristo'.

Johnny Depp, or David Tennant...

That is all.

Jim Cavizel intruiges me the most of the actors listed. Super underrated actor could really use a break out like this

two that weren't listed that I kinda like are Ethan Hawke and Gerard Butler. I think Especially Butler can carry action scenes a lot better than most of the elder guys you have listed. I don't believe Strange was anciently old in the comics, I guess I always figured he was mid-40s

David Tennant would be the absolute PERFECT Doctor Strange.

My guess is because of the lesser known property they are going to have to get somone with a little pizzaz too them.

David Tennant looks great, but I think they might need to stick with someone at least in the Adrian Brody name level.

My guess at least. Someone people correlate with the word movie star even if they aren't one yet.

Really? I think Tennant is an amazing actor, rivalling most of hollywood's best. He is just able to blend into his role so easily.

He's sure an excellent actor, but your average rube (who make up most of the movie going population) will have little to know clue who he is, if they should like him, and why they should see a movie with him in it

And the problem is, unlike Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America the rube is going to be asking the same question about Strange, who is he? why should i spend 10 dollars to see him in a movie?

One or the other, actor or role should be able to answer that question for the audience

I think another great question is when will this movie be realsed and what should the budget be?

I think they should aim for a Feb-March release and like a 60-80 million dollar budget

I know Dempsey is supposedly lobbying the hell out of this one, and I honestly would still be interested to see what he'd do with the character.

He feels really like a MCU actor. Seems like he'd gel really well. If he wants it I don't feel like stopping him

Yeah, I could see Dempsey landing the role. He wants the part, or so he says, is age-appropriate, probably not too expensive (because he is primarily a TV actor right now) but still has enough big screen experience to carry the lead in a movie and probably most important he brings name recognition to a character that may need it. I think he would be a decent choice to play Strange over the course of several films.

Ahh, good point. Since the GA won't have a clue who Strange is...it's up to a familiar face to grab their attention first. Sometimes it's hard to remember not everyone instantly knows who these characters are. lol

Not diggin' Tennant for the role at all. I'd actually prefer his Fright Night co-star Colin Farrell over him. Doc Strange has to have screen presence. Tennant doesn't have it.

Villain wise, I'm going for Baron Mordo with hints of Dormammu for the sequel, and maybe Shuma-Gorath.

Mordo would be a decent first villain. Dormammu definitely needs to make it to film eventually though

Did you ever watch Doctor Who? Because what you said just there is purely ridiculous. The way Tennant is referred to as The Doctor in Who is EXACTLY the same as Strange should be portrayed, as Fire meets Ice. Capable of equal parts pure fiery, gusto and also calm and tranquility.
