It bothers me too when I'm in situations like that, except I'm also Hispanic and am usually around other Hispanics who do it. I've even noticed that sometimes they would do it purposely to talk about about someone else who doesn't speak Spanish.I hate that some of my foreign co-workers tend to have conversations in their native language around me, I'm not being racist but it's rude and sounds like gibberish when foreign people aren't making cohesive words.
I'm hispanic but I've never had conversations on Spanish with the only other hispanic co-worker not even in private.

At the bank I work at I understand it because we get many foreign customers (Asian, Armenian) but it's rude when they're talking amongst themselves, and all I get from it are incoherent BS kind of like you're listening to Klingon clicks and noises like they're about to cough up a lung.It's more comforting to some

Well in Los Angeles it would be Spanish.The audacity! They should be speaking American at all times.
