Don't Hate The Hater, Hate The Hate! - - - Part 15

In college I did my best research, writing, and studying between 10:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. But, now that I have a job that is 7:00 a.m. to ?????????? who knows.... No way can I do that anymore.

Yeah there was a period in my life, as recent as the last 2-3 years where my sleep schedule was 11am-3pm just because I got more work done at home while it was dark and everyone else was sleeping. It even got to the point where in one semester, I had 4 of my 5 classes at night.

I've never been a morning person, and I always feel sick to my stomach whenever I wake up before 9am now, but I have been trying to get into a new sleep schedule so that I could wake up at 7am on a consistent basis. I will say though, the changing of the time this week has really messed me up.

I wish they would just leave the time alone.....I know that it has been talked about.....I just wish they would leave it as it is now and not change it in the FALL or SPRING ever again.

Hell, if people in the far north can live with 24 hours of Sun, or 24 hours of Darkness for months out of the year, we can be happy with a few less hours of sunlight, or a few more....and just leave it alone.

I hate when you feel like you don't know where you're suppose to go...or do, for that matter.

I honestly don't know why they do it. Heck, whenever I am setting up some device and they ask for the DST setting, I never know what to do.

But with that said, I did like how it was still sunny at around 7pm here today because too much darkness does feel depressing at times. But it really does suck because my internal clock was on point this past month.

Sounds like me right after I graduated. And I'm not just talking about what to do in terms of the future, but even with something so simple as where to go to eat and celebrate, I was completely clueless and sat and did pretty much nothing. Absolute freedom can be a scary thing.

You SPRING the clock forward an hour, and have it FALL back an hour.

The argument that's most used is that it saves energy/fuel/oil because most people use their lights and appliances in the evening. So the more sunlight you have in the evening, the less power gets used. Studies have shown that, while the logic might have some merit, it has negligible effect over all.

Another argument is that it helps keeps the rest of the world synced up with the farmers. Farmers get up at sunrise, but as that time changes, they wake up earlier and earlier (or later and later) compared to everyone else. It's a hold over from our agrarian days, but can still make life difficult with interactions between farmers and schools/businesses/what not.

If you really want to have fun with DST, drive through northeast Arizona some time. You'll change your clock 9 times crossing from New Mexico to Utah because the various reservations in that area do and do not observe the time change.

I hate it when I reference something a lot, whether it's from a movie/TV show or an inside joke, and after awhile a friend of mine will start referencing it, even though they're not familiar with whatever it is.

An example. Ghostbusters is my favorite movie and one of my close friends has never seen the whole film. So I quote lines from the movie a lot, and the other day my buddy tries to quote one of the lines during a conversation and just totally butchers it. A random stranger even chimed in and said "Did you mean to say 'Total protonic reversal'? Like when they cross the streams?"

My friend, "Uh yeah, from the uhhh, uhh protein packs."

Me:

You just have to keep at it. It gets depressing after awhile , but you'll land a job sooner or later. Longest stretch for me was five months.
Better than a year

Reading it is funny, wonder if it will be as funny living it

I'd turn to my friend and say "Stop...just...stop." And walk away.

I've done it before :p

He actually got pretty embarrassed when he realized how wrong he got the quote. He's not very geekish and we we're at the Seattle comic con, so he felt like a real poser messing up the line in front of a bunch of nerds, lol.

I then told him, very firmly, not to reference geek stuff he's not familiar with as it could get him beat up in a comic con setting. Not very badly beat up, but you know what I mean.

Yeah, it took me form June to October to find a job. Hell, I'm going through it again as we speak (looking to balance two jobs so I can move out and start my adult life.) Just keep looking, you'll get something eventually Aziz.

I hate this stupid stupid stomach flu that just blindsided me out of nowhere, throwing up sucks

I hate the trouble my router is giving me at this time!! I'd love to break it into a million little pieces right now!!! :argh::exp:

Yeah, there's something horrible in the human brain that makes us wait until bedtime to become inspired to do something. I had that feeling last night when I felt like writing something just before bed.

so did you write or go to bed?

I graduated last May and still don't have a job. Granted, I didn't really start looking until October and admittedly haven't tried as hard as I could. Right now I'm making some money by doing commissioned paintings, and I'm still trying to figure out what exactly I want to do. But I'm still finding it hard to land a job with no real working experience.

Maybe it's just me, but sometimes I hate when a celeb says "yeah I'm famous and have money now, but I'm still normal". Mainly because, in my mind, when someone becomes rich and famous they are no longer considered "normal" to me.

I went to bed, tried my damnedest to keep it all in my head the next day, and wrote down the general idea after work.

I admittedly lose a lot of details that way.

I hate that my school suddenly decided to change the ID cards and now they're actually checking to see if it's validated before letting you into certain places. I went to see my friends in Romeo & Juliet, but they wouldn't let me, even after my friend got a ticket for me. In all my time there I got into places with no problem, especially once I got into the theater department, but now I can't.
