Well I've been eating dinner everyday this week as soon as I get home, which is after 8pm, and then I go to sleep by 10:30-11pm. But since I feel sick in the morning, I don't eat breakfast right away, so I wait until about 11am, and that's my only meal in the day. I might snack on something like pretzels or animal crackers, but I don't eat anything before I get home. Plus, I feel like most of it might just be gas since my stomach starts bubbling as soon as I wake up.Do you eat dinner early, way before you go to bed? When my blood sugar is low, I feel nauseous. (And dizzy, headache-y, and get cold sweats sometimes...) It doesn't happen all the time, therefore it isn't diabetes, but hypoglycemia. I had hypoglycemic episodes more than once in college because my diet was crap and my stress levels were a lot higher. And my metabolism is so fast, I need to be eating constantly.
You feel better after some time even without eating, because your body will recruit glycogen from your liver to restore the glucose levels to what they should be. That may be what your body is used to - recruiting the glycogen from your liver while you're sleeping to energize you when you finally wake up. But if you're awake before then, your body might be freaking out.
It SUCKS when you're in the middle of an episode, though. And it's hard to diagnose because they have to take your blood when you're in the middle of one. Last thing I want to do in the middle of a hypoglycemic episode is to get out of bed.
If you think it might be related to your eating schedule, might as well change it up and see if it helps.
But if you're also getting them from the commute home, it could be a stress thing. If you're taking public transportation, maybe get some meditation music or something?
I mean, it's something you'll have to get used to. My bus ride home in elementary school took 1.5 hours (no joke - my house was the very last stop!) and I used to get SO carsick. Now long car rides don't faze me at all.
And I read that if its mental, taking up something like yoga or meditation could help me find ways to relax. But its like no matter what I try to think about, I always end up going back to thinking about how bad I feel, especially in the morning. I'm very eager to see how my body reacts during the weekend to see if I wake up feeling the same.
