I hate that the only woman I was attracted to at my job got fired today.
Sounds like she could use some...comforting.

Yeah but they fired her before I showed up today.Sounds like she could use some...comforting.![]()
What's wrong with sitting where you eat? I do it all the time...

Details man, what happened?I hate that the only woman I was attracted to at my job got fired today.
Called off too many times, mainly because of her kids, so they fired her.Details man, what happened?
Oh you don't want a woman with kids, trust me from experience my last girlfriend had two kids and she would only go out with me if the kids would come along too.Called off too many times, mainly because of her kids, so they fired her.
i hate that fast food workers want minimum wage to go up to $15. not only will that not be good for the economy, it's just another reason for people to not want to better themselves.
edit: the way i worded that may get me some backlash but that's not how i intended it. i'm not sure how to say it better, or more, positive?
That sort of motivation has to come from within. Just money isn't going to do it. We'll still need people working cash registers and waiting tables. Although yeah, the reason why so many teens don't have summer jobs is because older folks are staying in those temp jobs.i hate that fast food workers want minimum wage to go up to $15. not only will that not be good for the economy, it's just another reason for people to not want to better themselves.

If they are working in the service industry, there's usually the option of going into management where you'll get paid a lot more. When fast food workers need two or more jobs to make it month to month (and some of them not even making that), they are not getting paid enough. Plain and simple. You should not need to have two jobs just to survive.
For a lot of them, there is no "bettering themselves." There is no hope to go to college, to get a better job, there are no other jobs they can get. What else can they do? Minimum wage is so out of whack with cost of living it might as well be indentured servitude.
$15 might be too high but when you take adjustments for inflation it's probably not too far off either.

I do think making the minimum wage twice as much as it is now (especially for fast food workers) is too much of a jump though. I was offered that hourly rate when I was out of college with a biology degree, working in a research lab at a major uni. I think that takes more skill than flipping burgers. Not like they could offer me much more, because grant money doesn't grow on trees.![]()
Yeah, my older conservative friend likes to complain about those kinds of people too, but I know a bunch of poor young folks and they are too proud to pull that kind of stunt. I think the majority of the working poor are just as hard-working as you and are legitimately trying to get by on their own volition.i agree it's too much of a jump. it just frustrates me to think that i don't even make 15 an hour and someone who could work fast food would make more than i do. what's the incentive for me to keep my job if i can make more with a job like that.
i guess it just made me mad when i overheard conversations of people saying they weren't even trying to get jobs because they get plenty from food stamps etc. and these are the same people out buying ridiculously expensive, completely frivolous things with "their" money because everything else is covered by benefits etc. when i'm scraping by, with 3 jobs and get no kind of help.
little shade of bitter i am tonight haha
