I hate having to justify not having a job yet to people.

Going home for the weekend in two weeks (so I will have left town for 6 weeks). Of course, I don't have a job yet. It's been 6 weeks, and if i'm honest the first 2 weeks was more about getting myself settled in the city (as well as having teeth removed and recovering from that).

I have been put forward for several positions by agencies and applied for plenty online. But some of these applications have closing dates, a lot of which aren't even up yet!

And yet I know, when I go home, the first question absolutely EVERYONE is going to ask me is 'Got a job yet?' Heck, they were asking me that before I even bloody left!

I just HATE that question.

I know it's just standard. I know people are only being nice and making conversation. But it just drives me up the wall, especially if it's followed by any look of judgement or a comment like 'bloody hell, what are you going to do?'

It's like they think I haven't thought this through. When I made this move, did I SAY 'I'll move there and get a job within 6 weeks?'

No, I believe I said I had enough money to cover me for a 'few months' until I found a job... So why on earth are you so surprised I don't have a job yet?!

On a second note, I hate that I have to drive to Melbourne from Orlando (an hour's drive) for training with the possibility of not getting paid for mileage. Quitting Best Buy to work for Verizon, after 5 years with the company, is starting to seem like a risky chance I'm taking..

I hate how the uppercase letter i sometimes looks like the lowercase L.

We have a list of characters we check when we're choosing fonts (and recommend fonts for our users based on them). You also need to be careful with the letters O and Q and the number 0, the letter S and the number 5 (and also the $ sign), the number 1 and the lowercase L can also be confused. There are more but those are the worst.

I hate having to convince users that we really MUST archive their data so they HAVE to let us know when they've run their month end reports.

I hate it when I run into people posting and these morons just can't spell for s**t nor are they able to construct a proper sentence that makes a lick o' sense to whomever may be reading...

and it's not that f**king annoying textspeak, which irritates me to no end, as well... that's a whole 'nother hate goin' on with me...

are people just f**king uneducated dimwits when it comes to proper grammar and spelling and just the absolute basic usage of the English language?... how did they spend their time in class when they were in school?... with their thumbs up their asses and then in their ears?...

and the other thing that just gets me is that ever-present contingent of the young and the useless that absolutely MUST use the word "like" and "OMG" in every sentence that they use during everyday conversation...

a prime example of our schools today doing their best to further education and what they turn out with every year of graduations...

our future... god help us all... dumber than a box of rocks and a bag of sand...
