I like when old people tip me.
I hate people who don't tip their baggers
If I had everyone tip me back at my old grocery job I would be rich.
if they get a pay check and that's part of their job then i dont care so much
but where i work, baggers are contractors, they make no salary and only make tips. everyone knows this, there's signs and stuff and ppl still refuse to tip. irritates me cuz i know how hard they work. i was a bagger once
well where i work it's not a typical grocery store and most orders are minimum 100.00. we do 100k in sales on a slow day. biggest single order i remember seeing today was 1100.
if you want to do your own bagging, by all means. i just dont think its right for someone to expect the bagger to spend 10 minutes bagging their 400 dollar order for free.
This is bagging 101, yet that's not what happens when people are stores bag for me.We never tip baggers. Baggers don't exist, really; the clerks/cashiers do it. Frankly, if you're getting paid minimum wage you shouldn't be getting tipped for something most people would rather probably want to do, themselves, seeing as how most who are smart enough to run a cash register in my town aren't smart enough to know that you bag like items together, eggs and meat solely (or with something light like bread on top, in the case of eggs,) and double-bag medium-large bottles of liquid, like 2-liter sodas, especially when you have more than one in the bag. But, you know, most of these people can't make simple change without the cash register, so, I shouldn't be surprised. Some of the several reasons why we always use self-check-out isles.
