Age of Ultron Early Avengers 2 Box Office Prediction Thread - Part 2

1.4 something looking likely now.

^ I think the minimum it can get is about 1390 mil.

Probably it will end up with 1445 or something.

Domestically it should get to 429-430 mil by the end of the next weekend.

Who predicted that F7 would outsell AoU? No one. Incredible.

Reminds me of last year, GOTG ended up outgrossing all of TASM2, DOFP and TWS

Sounds about right.

No way! Although we had no idea that China was that big yet for any film. Even though AoU Is dying off very quickly there it's still going to be a good number at least which is promising for sequels. Just need the US numbers to stay at at least current levels for future films.

Would never have predicted GotG beating TASM2 either (before we knew how TASM2 would turn out). I didn't expect to like GotG anywhere near as much as I do.

Personally im more shocked that FF7 beat (or seem to beat) AoU than GoTG beating TASM2 or other cb films last year.

GoTG soundtrack would have grossed 300 mil WW playing by itself.

I think FF7 surprised everybody.

Now, just watch as people use it for evidence that either "Marvel Studios is done!" or "Superheroes are done!" *ahem*

I'm starting to think Universal may beat Disney and win the year worldwide. Now that will be an upset. Imagine a movie like Minions making more money that Star Wars worldwide. Its not impossible.

F7 is the 4th biggest movie of all time so it's not like Avengers 2 got beat by the typical Fast and Furious movie.

And two of the main reasons Avengers 2 fell short of expectations was the poor exchange rate and lackluster reviews. Marvel Studios can easily bounce back. They always do.

Is there a Marvel comic that is predominately about racers and cars? It's time for Marvel to cash in on Furious' fame :sly:

Also, the weekend it was released really hurt it. It went up against the highest grossing fight of all time. I really think that took off $50-75M off of its gross.

FF7 might beat Avengers as well. I think it will be the 3rd highest grossing movie for a period of time.

"bounce back" would imply this film has not done well for Marvel.

I don't think Minions will beat Star Wars, but this is certainly the best year for Universal in recent memory.

So, we're still acting like AoU is a failure and $1.2 billion isn't a great achievement, eh?

We've had the regular Avengers and West Coast Avengers. Time for the NASCAR Avengers!

Nothing was stopping those same people from seeing AOU the following week though.

yeah but FF7 didnt seem to mind about the exchange rate did it ?

I think the main reason was the lack of novelty of seeing the team for the 1st time in cinematic history.

yeah but FF7 didn't seem to mind about the lack of novelty of seeing the same team together for the nth time in cinematic history did it ?
