Medically? A long time. Looks like Sylar just gave her a really deep cut in the forehead. Even if he managed to saw the bone, it still wouldn't kill her immediately - only if he managed to remove or cut off her brain. If they take her to a hospital in time to put on some stitches and bone glue, she can live.

And yes, all that bleeding is normal when you injure the head area.

I think this finally showed that Sylar can't really sense which people have powers, or he would have whacked Claire from the get-go AND killed Peter before he fled. He just tracks them down, probably with whatever system Dr. Suresh devised to do so.

I think its been obvious thats how he's been doing so.

Yeah, she wasn't moving at all and her eyes were just eyed still. Shes dead, and I think the top of her head was open too, and it was funny how HRG didn't give a damn.

"The Hatian" sounds pretty cool to me. Even if he gets a name, I think he should be refered to as The Hatian.
