i wouldn't bet on that... FOX does have share holders... and well... if this film bombs and they realize all 3 films were a colossal waste of money... (and if it's true they do pay "rent" to some extent on these properties.. then... there's no longer a point keeping them.. they will just continue to funnel out money with no return profit... Might as well make a deal for something you could actually use (x-men tv rights) rather than just let something collect dust

Depends on how badly they want to stick it to Marvel. I can see them going with the "soft reboot" approach if this movie tanks just to keep the rights away from marvel.

Regardless of minor personality squabbles studios don't go out of their way to stick it to each other. Especially not when hundreds of millions of dollars are at stake. If all goes well with the Sony deal and MS rocks it with Spider-Man you'd better believe Fox is gonna enter talks with them to work out a shared property or two. Money talks, bs walks.

I don't see Fox sharing the X-Men since they literally just rebooted. That's why I believe that the FF are going back to Marvel. Fox want the X-Men TV rights and they can't make a profitable FF film.

Again, Fox is not Sony. At all in any shape or form. Sony only teamed with Marvel Studios because they were desparate and had been in the red for years. The shareholders were pissed. This all came out in the hack. Sony only joined with Marvel as a matter of survival. If they hadnt been as bad off as they were they wouldnt have joined with Marvel studios.

Also, Fox isnt Sony in that Fox has a well known fued with Marvel. Unlike Sony. And I dont mean a healthy competitveness. Fox and Marvel do not get along and Marvel has been irked by Fox for a while going back before this film even existed.

Really people need to stop comparing Fox to Sony or expecting Fox to do something just because another far more desparate studio did the only thing they could. When Fox is financially in Sony's shoes then we can start comparing Fox to Sony.

I just turned it in. It's over 2500 words and full of righteous hatred. Listen, I know have a reputation of being a hater on here, but it's really not true. I mean I loved MI5. I love popcorn movies even. I just want them to be good and of a certain quality and merit.

This movie...deserves every bit of hate it's getting and more.

I see Fox doing whatever makes them the most money, gives them the least amount of risk, and the best chance of franchise longevity. Same with any studio.

The article is full of uncensored swearing so I can't link to it, but he talks to a random waitress about his penis size and says he'll order the reporter the "no rape service" from Uber after she tells him about their recent sexual assault accusations, among other things.

The reporter lady clearly hated him but even after you take out all of her commentary, none of what he says sounds good.

I read the article. The whole thing is kind of bizarre. The writer could probably paint a man like ghandi as a dick. But if that article is at all representative of what Teller is really like I probably wouldnt find him all that pleasant.

I get the sense that Teller probably has a sophomoric, male frat sense of humor that probably put off and gave a bad first impression to the writer. Some personalities are just like oil and water, even if the two people are not particularly bad people at all.

And now that FOX has had their little fun and is looking at at least 8 figure losses on FFINO, they're going to sit down with Marvel and make a deal. Because FOX confirmed production on an X-Men TV show whose rights Marvel controls. And because it's not a good business practice to piss off the Mouse.

Yep. Totally different to Spider-Man. Whilst Sony didn't do that franchise any favors with the reboot, it's nowhere near as tragic as this.

Spidey can be fixed with a new, unique reboot. F4 had been shoved so far down the drawn that it'll take a more than a decade till people will be willing to give it another shot.
