Days of Future Past First Class Official Casting Thread

hmm I always assumed the X-movies spanned a 1 yr...I believe X2 was 3 months after the events of X1 and wasn't it 4 or 6 months after the events of X2 for X3??

Anywho one would assume Scott, Jean, Storm are in their 30's, Beast hmm early to mid 40s @least

Screenwriter Simon Kinberg did agree to a fan's suggestion that X3 could be about six months after X2, but there was no fixed date for when it occurred.

There was a new president, and a Dept of Mutant Affairs was established, so it could be longer. Some say it's set 3 years later.

That's the issue I have with this continuity. How old were Eric/Charles in that scene if you had to guesstimate? They were 65-70 in the trilogy... 1986 makes them around 45-50. That's why featuring the young mutants in FC is a mistake. I don't have a problem with the Beast casting because he doesn't seem to be that much younger than Charles. Havok in the movie as an 18 year old, I'd have a major problem with.

Kevin Bacon is the villain.
I'm told that Kevin Bacon has the offer and is negotiating to play the villain role in X-Men: First Class. Not sure of his character, and they have to make his deal, but Bacon would line up nicely alongside James McAvoy (Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Alice Eve (Emma Frost), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Caleb Landry Jones (Banshee), and Lucas Till (Havoc). Director Matthew Vaughn is casting up a storm as the picture nears the start line.

I'm thinking Sinister. Also,

Wow!great casting.Hope it Is Sinster. With the exception of Kate Bosworth In Superman Returns(yes I know many had Issues with Halle berry as Storm but that was no way as bad as Bosworth as Lois Lane) Bryan Singer and Matthew Vaughn do a good job with casting(I especilly liked vaughn casting Michelle Pfeiffer In Stardust. He showed she can be a beautiful older object when she wasn't In Old age makeup) and I think this would be the first film of this kind bacon would be In.

Bacon will be a great addition to the cast, good actor and can play evil, i'm just curious who he will be, I think its safe to say Apocalypse is out (I always thought he would be a bit too much for a FC team anyway) as well as Proteus, so, as someone else said, Sinister seems the logical choice, but we'll see, it could be someone totally unexpected.

if Bacon is Sinister, this would be an amazing cast and a really interesting movie.

I cant wait to see Moira, Sinister and Emma having a development in this movie, and of course, with interaction with Xavier and the rest of the cast.

Some really interesting characters on this prequel.

This news just turned me around into anticipation for this one. I've always wanted to see Bacon as a comic book villain, it seems like a natural fit. Thought he would have made a great Green Goblin. Or Electro.

Great news.

Kevin Bacon??? O hell yea I wanted him For Norman/GG but ill take him for sinister

Whoa...Kevin Bacon??? Crazyness. I can't wait to see what he's playing. If they don't go the Sinister route, maybe he plays a Graydon Creed type of role

I can see them using the Hellfire storyline and Bacon would be Sebastian Shaw.

what about Cyclops? Didn't they officially cast him yet?

At first I thought, What? Sinister? In First Class as the villain?
That makes no sense. Its like the Wolverine movie, OK we have a origin story about Wolverine, lets add Blob, Gambit, Deadpool, Cyclops, White Queen, and a bunch of other characters that have nothing to do with Wolverine's past.

But, thinking about it more,
Sinister has been alive for a long time, Magneto remembers him in the concentration camps collecting blood.
He has a lot of history with Cyclops, who could be the focus of the movie.
Havoc is being cast too, he too has history with Sinister.

It does sound like a spin off from the Wolverine movie, but they might show the history that comes before that too with young Magneto and young Xavier.
But having Banshee and White Queen?
Even if they do connect it to Weapon X, I can see Sinister weaseling his way into there to experiment on mutants. Anything to get the chance to do that. He worked with the Nazis to do that.

Kevin Bacon? hmm, not sure but I guess.

Still, Sinister might be a cool enemy for First Class.

In one of the casting sides Magneto mentions being "experimented on" by a man.

Kevin Bacon in a comic movie? This is sort of out of left field but I love it. As much as I was disappointed with X3 and thought Wolverine was fairly crappy, i'm trying not to get even the slightest bit excited for this film because it's still under Fox studios but if Rothmen really isn't in control like he used to be, maybe this could turn out alright...especially since Singer was involved a bit.

The main villain of Season Three is,
Mr. Sinister (AKA Nathanial Essex)

I hope they stick as close, maybe hint at, Sinister's true origins (Apocalypse and the 1800s like Wolverine)
He worked with the Nazis to experiment on people in the concentration camps, and was nicknamed "the Vampire". He experiments on Cyclops, and is the source of his greater than it should be powers, maybe Havoc too.

(the past I hope they hint at, he was a scientist like Charles Darwyn who was osbessed with evolution and experimented on the poor. Then he was found by Apocalypse and turned from nathan Essex into Mr. Sinister so he could have more power to experiment on people.)

Could Sinister being the bad guy in First Class 1, mean that eventually the overall bad guy from 1-3 would be Apocalypse?

OMG Kevin Bacon!! How delightfully random!!

Is Amber Heard Mystique or is that just a rumor?

No confirmation. It was just reported that Fox was pursuing her for the role.

In the comics, Xavier and Magneto first revealed their powers to each other when fighting Nazi Baron Strucker and the terrorist criminal organization, HYDRA. I don't know if Fox has rights to those characters though, because they're tied to S.H.I.E.L.D.

Magneto was also experimented on in the now-defunct X-Men Origins: Magneto screenplay.
