Days of Future Past First Class Official Casting Thread

You know what we mean. Why be coy? LOL She is high yella. And I mean high like a kite in the sky. LOL :p

I know you don't mean it in this way or anything, but talk like that is the same kinda thing that makes biracial/multiracial kids feel outta place. I speak from experience. Though I'm sure you understand, being biracial yourself.

I think they are faking us out and Zoe Is actully Storm.I also think Lucas Till may be Cyclops and not Havoc.Plus they may be faking out on who Oliver Pratt Is playing. It does piss me off all the reports of Alice Eve as Emma Frost and now she Is not In the film. While I never saw her In anything she looked more like Emma frost.

The only actors who are 100% confirmed for this film because their names came directly out of Vaughn and Singer's mouths are:

James McAvoy
Michael Fassbender
Nicholas Hoult
Jennifer Lawrence
and Kevin Bacon

:/

Kravitz is not white. Judging by her parents who are both half African American and half, I think Jewish... well, she's, uh, she's not white. :o

Well, she's definitely not African... she has more white features than Halle... and many (in the Black community at least) thought Halle was too white for the character... Unfortunately, Hollywood and society as a whole have this view that biracial and multi-ethnic people are beautiful and that Black is ugly. I wouldn't even mind a light-skinned Black person but for God's sake give us a chance to shine for once!!! Ororo is the perfect opportunity for Hollywood to redeem itself and depict a Black person as both beautiful and classy and maybe prove that Black actresses can do more than Tyler Perry comedies for UPN. Casting Storm as a full-blooded Black actress of African descent could inspire an entire generation of young Black females that have been looked down upon for centuries...

I'm pretty sure Hollywood has nothing against black women - and I certainly don't. I just want to be able to watch 'First Class' and then watch 'X-Men' and not feel like there's two different black women with white hair and the same powers. I want it to feel like the same character. Well, maybe with some more character. But you get what I'm saying.

sorry but half black is still black and she looks black dont try to act like her being half white some how cancels out he being African american woman

I guess Alex Billington over at Firstshowing got confirmation from Fox about January Jones.

Then again, it's Alex Billington over at Firstshowing.

She doesnt look white...looks like she has a bit of a stash in that pic

It's more like a stash ^^^^... buy hey... women are mammals too.

Here's the deal... this is either some really cheap movie that is going to be really light on effects and more character/dialogue driven. It's gonna be all 1960's-70's. Beast and Mystique are going to have some meaty roles as far as familiar faces. Everyone else is going to be a mutant not too many people care about. And they'll be taking on Bacon and his henchmen. I think Lucas Till/Havok will show up at the end but he won't end up joining the school. Maybe they kill him off too.

OR... logic tells me and most of us, that this black chick, or since that's debatable, I'll call her the stash girl, is playing Storm and if not, no big deal to leave Storm out. Till is actually playing Scott, and Jean will be cast very shortly. That's pretty much all that needs to happen, so I wouldn't panic yet.

I did not expect that post from you.:up:

I just worry with most of the names we know being ''unannounced." That will end up with a very rushed film shooting schedule wise. It bothers me that so many of the characters are truly unconfirmed.

Confirming characters to the public doesn't really have anything to do with a film's schedule.

The film's rushed schedule is what should indicate that the film has a rushed schedule. And, as has been pointed out every time this is brought up, all of the previous X-films (save Wolverine) were similarly rushed. To varying results.

I....love you. :hrt: There is so much gold in your post.

ReallyCoolGuy...you're a really cool guy.

Wolverine was still God awful despite the extra time they had.... what is troubling is how so many of the original actors have been sacked. I think it was a case of Rothman going, "If there is any doubt as far as scheduling or the slightest impasses with negotiations, just find the next serviceable gun, mercenary for hire, because we simply do not have the time to drag it out." January Jones looks decent but is nothing to write home about. I don't know much about these other actors. I guess at the end of the day it's about Magneto and Xavier. Hoult probably got hired because he is a pretty boy. Frost looks like eye candy at this point as well.

Well...let's see: We've had three different Storms in all three of the films. One of them even had an accent. The Human Torch's first name is Steve now. And Bruce Banner/Incredible Hulk is on his 3rd plastic surgery job.

I'm sure we can reboot this character and all be forgiven by audiences. This is just stupid, stubborn casting on the part of FOX--if this is true.

As far as Hollywood having nothing against Black women... Can you name a Black actress of 100% African descent that is taken seriously and respected by the Hollywood community..? I sure can't... Halle Berry's only half-Black and a great actress and she couldn't even get an Oscar until she did a sex scene with a white man..

Whoopi Goldberg.

Black is a color and she is definitely dark-skinned. African is an ancestry and also appears in certain physical features. Halle Berry is half-African descent and barely shows African features. Zoe Kravitz is 1/4-African descent and lacks many physical features that a Kenyan woman would portray.

Interesting that Zoe Saldana would come up in this discussion.. kind of backs up what I was saying about the portrayal of colored women in Hollywood..
