Forever director's cut closer to reality than ever!

*Does a little dance*

Thanks for sharing that information. What Jett does is great for the Batman community, however I think he comes across like a huge you know what when he speaks of the previous non-Nolan films

I'm hoping it happens, we could see what really Joel Schumacher wanted to do.

I'd love to pick up a BF: DC is they ever put it out.

I'd love to see what JS 'ver sion of Batman Forever was.
I do love Batman Forever for nostalgic reasons ( i have fond memories from the period when it came out and it also was the 2nd movie in my life that i watched) as well as acting reasons ( Val Kilmer & Jim Carrey were awesome in their roles).

However this director's cut might "redeem" Schumacher alot IF it turns out to be a good movie.

It's a breakdown on Batman Forever rumours, the time-line, extended/deleted footage, and what we should expect from the end result of the director's cut.

If this all does come to pass, then I can't F'n WAIT!!!!!!!!

Most of the research on the net of deleted scenes from Batman Forever comes from a list I compiled back in 1997. I posted it on the IMDb and I've seen it come up repeatedly since.

Anyway, there are a lot of misconceptions about a director's cut. The movie is never going to be much darker. The idea that it would be better simply by being darker is such an immature, lowbrow conceit. No, the point is that there is more story. Batman Forever has a very strong storyline and that doesn't come through in the existing film.

We owe you much thanks then!

The "red booklet" subplot was an integral part to the story and is simply brushed over in the existing cut. It would do wonders to strengthening the story. However, I don't know if they can outdo your "Kiss From A Rose" ending, which was awesome :woot:

I probably won't watch it unless Schumacher shows signs of getting some sort of new score in there. (Which is impossible)

The score to Batman Forever is like nails on a chalkboard.

2 things:

1) Great!!!! Now just get in different camera angles like the side shot of the flip off the water fountain, the leap off of the Ritz, and remove the cut to a Bruce and Dick, when he says 'train me, let me be your partner'. Just keep the whole cut on Grayson. I swear the trailer got the better shots.

2) Don't give it a crappy in your face "JOEL SCHUMACHER CUT" cover ala the new recut Superman 2 DVD. It looks more like an 1950's book than a DVD cover.

Actually they should just to piss you off:up:

interesting...i'll definately check this film out if they ever do release a director's cut. from what i've read on that link someone posted, it seems like it could have been better than what we actually got.

I'm looking forward to see this director's cut. WB shouldn't have deleted those scenes in first place.
From the deleted scenes that I've seen, definitely some of the best parts of the movie were out of the final version.
And the story lost a lot of its strenght when this happened.
Pretty stupid thing (what WB did) 'cause they had cut those scenes but maintained the close up butt-shots and all the gay implications instead.
But I would like to see what Schumacher had planned to be on film in first place.

Some of it is effective, there are some ominous plunges which I like. But on the whole I agree, and with my edit I'm trying to get rid of the really silly stuff.

wow! So, I wasted my money on the Batman Forever DVD for nothing! :cmad:

The director's cut is not a definite yet.

Wouldn't it be awful if Warner Bros confirmed a director's cut is in progress - but it's Batman & Robin? And it's three and a half hours?

wow...
And with a half hour entirely dedicated to other bat-butt-shots in close ups, and extensive displays of bat-d1ldo-shaped gadgets! :wow:
Priceless...

That'd actually be damn funny! :woot:

You know...they did cut a lot of stuff out from Batman & Robin. :o

Some of it is shocking.

For instance, Batgirl shouting, "Pow!" and "Whack!" when she hits someone. And then, if that wasn't bad enough, singing the 60's Batman theme tune. Even Schumacher knew that was too much.
