Forever director's cut closer to reality than ever!

I've said it before and I'll say it again; it would be interesting, yes, as long as Batman puts on that ridiculous suit for the finale, it will never be a good movie. It will be improved at best.

To this day, Batman Forever is the best screenplay. Unforunately Schumacher didn't take the subject matter seriously. Had he done that we would have had the best Batman movie ever made.

You'll condemn a movie on the strength of one costume?

Finally someone who agrees with me on this.

talking about the strength of that costume is like talking about the strategy in staying the course in Iraq; there is none, it's a joke.

I'll agree with it as well. Although, I'm still sorta iffy on the Riddler and Two-Face's dialogue. But then, most of the camp came from the performances.

I am SO glad you've only posted 96 times in four years.

O, so you agree w/ me in essence but then attempt to shoot down what is essentially your own point?

A Little something to keep the hype going. I hope they go through with this. I think Shumacher did a good job with "Forever." It's my second favorite film in that series.

No, I agree with Kevin Roegele.

I'm pretty sure you're Gomer Pyle, USMC.

You really need to learn your history before posting.

I know. Batman never puts on a ridiculous costume to fight the villains all the time in the comics.

Very nice

First of all, just because Batman wears a costume doesn't mean that any costume is a good one. You probably liked Superman's electric costume too; if not, I'd love to know why. Secondly, that costume is only one of many flaws in the movie that extra scenes are not gonna remedy. What about Two-Face in the movie; what was the point of his character? He's supposed to live by whatever choices his coin makes but instead he's always intent on doing evil and simply flips the coint until it comes up accordingly. It was just Tommy Lee trying to keep up with Carrey basically.

The director's cut is not a definite yet.

Wouldn't it be awful if Warner Bros confirmed a director's cut is in progress - but it's Batman & Robin? And it's three and a half hours?
Good god that would be horrible.:wow:

ok seriously do you really think that even just because we see a few more scenes in the movie it will make it better?

God that post was hilarious

*Does a little dance*

Thanks for sharing that information. What Jett does is great for the Batman community, however I think he comes across like a huge you know what when he speaks of the previous non-Nolan films

i didnt know what you meant until i went to BOF. wow.....what a dope. talk about not understanding the character. if he was such a fan of the "character", he would see that all the batman films, including batman begins, got certain things right and certain things wrong. batman begins is by no means a perfect batman film. as far as im concerened, its just as good as any of the previous versions with nothing new brought to the table. seriously, i just dont get the fuss.

as for this batman forever DC, i dont think it will happen. who would buy that? not me. im good with just the normal dvd. it wasnt that great of a film for me to buy twice.

<bangs head against wall>

The point of a director's cut is that the film is different, and hopefully better.

Hi Batwing6655.

This would restore the story and be an Improvement. It still would be the worst of Batman Trilogy(note I don't consider Batman and Robin as part o f the original series) But putting the Arkham escape back, putting the resolution to the red book back, cutting the first hour the way It was Intended(wayne enterprises and Bruce encounteting Edward Nymga before returning to the batcave to face Two face,Batman and Chase's encounter on the rooftop of police headquarter after Dick has moved In)

I hope it finally gets made cause this is long overdue!
Schumacher actually agreed to work on this but WB scrapped it from the Anthology set a couple years ago. Perhaps the succes of the Donner Cut has convinced them theres a demand for stuff like this.

Hopefully they'll give Joel a reasonable budget to work on effects etc. and maybe get Elliot Goldenthal to do rescoring if necessary.

Yeah, BF is my fav movie and im hoping too that Joel would do some changes in BF.Im also agree with you Retroman, except rescooring Bf. Why? The music in bf is excellent(for me exactly) and it would be intresting to hear new and altenative musical ideas which Elliot didnt include inthe film. But there are some moments on score that was composed for some deleted scenes. Like the beginig of Fledermarchmausmusic with those string driving wagnerian ostinato, which was played in moment before we see batmobile driving through Gotham city and two-face chasing him. But this scene, wasnt appeared in the movie(i mean the begging of batman driving). Annd there were some brainwashing music sequences which we heared in Nygma Variations (An Ode to Science) track with atonal violin concerto pizzicato it, but was recorded as extra (additional) theme which doesnt appear nowhere in movie. But as you noticed all cut scenes which were included in SE BF wasnt scored by Goldenthal, why? If so Goldenthal needs to compose some music for those scenes!

I hope this is made some day. Have new art on the dvd cover. overseas, they got new art on the covers for the special editions. maybe make it a two discs with the second disc have more special features, new art on the discs as well. I wouldnt be surprise if this is made WB will propbably release a new set of editions to the other films as well. maybe give a Superman:The Ultimate Collector's Edition treatment.
