Future TV shows from Marvel?

Also, as a big fan of all four of these characters... this will inevitably lead to a new Defenders comic staring them. That would be awesome sauce :awesome:

^ TV is the ideal medium to delve into Kun Lun and Dannys Origin as well as Orson Randall.

However since they are planning a Defenders crossover they will skip over most of the good stuff to get him into position. Like they did with Cap

I don't know, 13 hour long eps? That's quite a bit of time.

Wait so are DareDevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones getting their own tv shows or is it just a DareDevil show and a Hero's For Hire show and they still have two shows to announce?

Each getting their own plus a Defender mini which will likely be all of them teaming up or whatever.

They haven't said anything about Heroes for Hire, so those are presumably the 4 characters getting their own shows. Then they merge into the Defenders mini-series.

I must admit, as excited as I am for all of these, I'm most stoked about Iron Fist. I just think he has so much breakout potential, and I can't wait to see his rapport with Luke Cage. Nice to be getting another female superhero as well.

Agreed Iron Fist has the potential to be the best of the four. Also will be interesting to see who gets cast and what tge production values look like.

I though the defenders were Dr Strange, Namor and some others not these characters

Apparently Luke was a Defender for a bit, but they don't got the rights to all the comic ones, so they're just gonna go with these.

Seems strange, why not just call it Heroes for Hire since they're all involved with that name

I just hope they don't skimp on the martial arts. The CW-level fight productions may work ok for Arrow, but I need Iron Fist to have better. Like, last time I was watching The Raid, I was just imagining how cool Iron Fist could be with that level of action. So yeah, I'll defintely be crossing my fingers for high production values on that one.

The ratings keep getting lower, in time the show may end up striving just to get a 2nd season, let alone reaching 2015

The show has had over 7 million viewers for all of its episodes, shows like Arrow and Supernatural struggle to hit 2 million. This show is staying where it is.

They're doing pretty well for a show going up against NCIS anyway.

Is anyone surprised that Luke Cage is joining the MCU before Black Panther?

Not myself at any rate :P BP would take quite a lot of production to do correctly and his story is quite hard to handle in comparison to a luke cage.

Just heard the news, and did a happy dance. Can't wait for all of 'em!

I really hope Luke Cage and Iron Fist merge into Heroes for Hire, though. Seems like a wasted opportunity if they don't, imo.

I feel that after the first season going solo and the Defenders they will fold together and make room for another hero.

Defenders provides an interesting contrast/comparison with the Avengers, Marvel's most successful brand. Just as consumers know Marvel's earth based cinematic superheroes as Avengers, by 2016 they'll recognize Defenders as Marvel's New York based street level heroes.

Probably because it wouldn't be an apt name for this group and what it will do. This reminds me more of the ending "King of Hell's Kitchen" when Matt got Luke, Danny, and Pete to take down Sano and the Yakuza.

Daredevil is perfect for TV, no doubt, but I'm also really interested in a Jessica Jones show. I've always found her to be an interesting character, especially in Alias and The Pulse. That JJ would be fantastic to see. I also really like her romance with Luke Cage and how gradually it developed. I'd love to see that dynamic in the TV shows as well.

yes because 13 hrs isn't enough time to delve into all that..:whatever:

To be fair it is quite an extensive back story and to fully realize K'un L'un would be difficult on tv. But im confident they will be able to do it.

The shows on the CW not only struggle to get 2 million viewers, their ratings in the demo are paltry, very little over 1.0. AOS is doing extremely well in the demo considering its competition. This week it was at 2.5, as opposed to 2.9 for NCIS, which pulls in 19 million viewers a week on average. Considering the competition, AOS is doing incredibly well. And in comparison to ABC's other shows, it's the 3rd-ranked drama, behind Scandal (2.9) and Grey's Anatomy (2.6).

I also agree. I hope they don't make iron fists story just like daredevil where he' fighting street crime. To be honest I was kind of hoping they would get to film in Hong Kong or shanghai and then have danny travel back to America to meet up with the others.

I hope that's the case but the problem with filming in those cities is that china won't let you do it if there there's even a hint of conflict or crime.

Lots of interesting potential though

Completelly different channel, i'm not from the USA and even i can see that, shows in CW are doing well in the 2 million views, while shows in ABC get cancelled much more easily, let's not Forget that V was cancelled due to only having 4-5 million viewers per episode, oh and remember Heroes? It was cancelled when it was also pulling 5-6 million, CBS recently cancelled a show in it's first season that was among the most watched 25 tv shows of the 2012-2013 season and had around 12 million viewers. So don't compare the ratings of a network like ABC with CW, that's like trying to say that if Spartacus survive with less than 1 million in most episodes then Game of Thrones could too.
