exactly...there's none of this 'assumed dead, having amnesia, showing up with an eyepatch' crap going on

[blackout]yeah you know except for bran and rickon and davos and theon and half a dozen others[/blackout]

but those instances

with Bran and Rickon, someone most likely Theon just took two heads off of two random kids and told people it was Bran and Rickon, the same with Davos.....in the case of Eddard and Drogo....you SEE/READ their death

Yeah, he seems to have missed that.

Also, regarding [BLACKOUT]Theon[/BLACKOUT], he's never reported as dead. In fact, he's reported as very much alive, and told to be kept alive.

i put them in spoilers as a response to another post and as a courtesy.....dont get your panties in a wad

George R.R. Martin posts clues on his website, and his intrepid fans dissect them. On Saturday, the Game of Thrones author posted on his Not a Blog a "hot new casting hint" for the show's second season. "Down under he was the voice of wisdom," Martin posted. "Later on he was the voice of everyone. Now he's wisdom."

According to our measurements, it took fans exactly .0000000291 seconds to dissect this little clue. The answer? Audiobook voice actor Roy Dotrice has been cast as Pyromancer Hallyne.

Dotrice, a close friend of Martin's, was originally cast in the HBO show as Grand Maester Pycelle, but was later replaced in the role by Julian Glover after Dotrice contracted an illness. Now, however, he's back and ready to act as another behind-the-scenes figure in King's Landing.

Hallyne will share most of his scenes with Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), as Tyrion tries to find new ways to defend King's Landing from the new usurpers who rose up in the season one finale. That includes the newly crowned (Robb Stark) and the rightful heir to the throne, Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane).

Martin later explained his clue on his blog, stating, "Yes, it’s Roy Dotrice in the role of Hallyne the pyromancer, chief of the Guild of Alchemists. The 'hot hint' was a reference to pyromancy, of course. Down under Manhattan, in the tunnel community of Beauty and the Beast, Roy played Father, the wise leader of the tunnel folk. Later, as audiobook reader, he did all the myriad voices in the first three Ice & Fire novels. And of course the alchemists style themselves with the honorific 'wisdom.' Roy is one of the finest actors I have ever had the privilege of working with, and I’m thrilled to have him back on the series."

Game of Thrones will return for its second season in spring 2012.

so some guy that the 45 people who still listen to audiobooks have heard of??

The thought of audiobooks always gives me a cold shiver.

I know some people who get them and listen to them in the car because that is the only free time they have. Some are like George Costanza and hate the sound of their own voice.

I've never listened to an audiobook. Do they read word for word from the book? Is it just one person reading or multiple people reading different parts/characters?

Unless they add stuff that didn't happen in the book. No, dead is dead. Except for one person, but that person isn't even dead yet.

I'm looking forward to that. But I'll probably have to wait until season 3 or 4 for it, right? That is, if each season is one book.

I think they're referring to the most recent book (A Dance With Dragons) which would be season 5 or 6 (if Book 3 is split into 2 seasons).

Then there are others(like me) who just don't like having to strain their eyes for too long. I'll take audiobooks and retaining my near 20/20 vision anyday. As long as they are unabridged of course.

Lets not try to peg down who or where it happens. Those who read the series know who I'm talking about.

If I could read books while driving to work and mixing chemicals while at work, I would. But until that's possible, I'm one of those 45.

How about just not talking about it, period? Especially if you're not going to bother spoiler-tagging it.

There's no need to post vague, teasing spoilers to do that.
