cant remember which episode it was so i will black it out but[BLACKOUT] i was sooooo pissed when ed died[/BLACKOUT]

i will admit i was ready to quit the show with him and again with drogo luckily i passed through it

You don't want to quit before season 2. Clash of Kings is probably my favorite of the 3 I've read.

Book 3 is gonna be killer on screen, so much happening, it's my favourite of the bunch (yet to read Dance of Dragons.)

trust me them killing off two out of a hand full of the coolest characters on tv and still keeping me hooked has converted me into a staunch believer

Yeah, it'd be like killing off Aragorn and Legolas from LOTR and let Gimli and Eomer carry the show. I wasn't happy to see both of them go (since these two were my favorites), but kudos to G.R.R.Martin for pulling it off.

i have to say that i think game of thrones makes LOTR look like twilight

i dont want to sound like a cynic but the lotr movies were a little gay , best scene was gandalf and bilbo tok'n up blowing smoke viking longboats

Just finished season1 , wow. :wow: I still can't believe they killed off Eddard Stark. I was/is shocked and so surprised! I was so invested in his character, I'm sad to see him go. Also, The Imp is one of my favorite character on the show.

The only thing I didn't not like about the show was they not showing the battle in episode 9 or was it episode 8? when they capture Jaime Lannister and almost 2,000 soldiers died. I know its too expensive to do battle scenes like this on cable tv and even on feature films it's expensive. But they could have shown some of the battle at least. :\

I'm hooked and can't wait for the next season!

Season 2 won't disappoint with battles.

Yeah definitely, most of the POV character is going to encounter a few battles here and there. I'm especially curious to see how they'll handle the battle at Blackwater.

im going to start watching the first episode tonight...

I'm the last one to defend LOTR but your ill-thought statement needed addressing. You have to look at what, when, and why Tolkien created his stories to really appreciate their groundbreaking contribution to literature. Yes, the stories seem simplistic, the characters one dimensional but his works paved the way for all fantasy writers, in some way, including GRRM.

Lets see if people will remember GRRM in 75 years and by some chance if they do they will still compare/contrast him to Tolkien's works. Heck even in our time most people don't know GRRM's works but are familiar with Tolkien.

So as great as the euphoria is regarding GRRM's greatness, it sounds foolish to discount the works of a generation defining writer like Tolkien.

You know nothing about the casting of Ygritte! Until now: HBO is ready to unveil the final significant player added to the Game of Thrones second season cast.

Downton Abbey actress Rose Leslie has landed the key role of a Wildling woman that Jon Snow meets during during his adventures beyond the Wall. Ygritte is described as “strong-willed, witty, skilled in battle and survival in the wilderness. An unconventional beauty, skinny but strong with red hair (which the Wildlings consider ‘kissed by fire’).”

Leslie joins the rather huge Thrones season two cast. The show has also cast a mercenary pirate, a lecherous Northerner and one of his pet wives, and a faceless assassin and Theon’s fierce sister and an heir to the Iron Throne and his sorceress and the Onion Knight and a female wannabe knight and a proper princess. Game of Thrones returns for 10 episodes in the spring.

i have to admit the first one was good but the other two were kind of boring in my opinion, and 90% of me agrees with the CLERKS 2 lotr rant ( even the frodo/sam gay look part )

but on the other hand i do preciate the quality of the film and the undertaking they went through. if i could get 30 minutes with a good editor i could making LOTR more enjoyable to people like me

but i apologize if i upset you

Not bad, but Ygriette wasn't as gorgeous. I guess this is TV ugly. lol
