Looking back, Robert really wasn't such a bad king. Considering his son is practically Caligula.

He wasn't a bad king because he let Jon Arryn rule. He did however spend the crown into debt. I would say the reason he was at least a decent king is [BLACKOUT]because everyone was waiting until he died to make a move for the crown. Once that happened, the game began. And not just the Lannisters, Baelish and Varys have their own ambitions as do some other families.[/BLACKOUT]

He's got a brother and sister. Tyrion briefly interacted with them this episode. They haven't had many lines. They're the only Lannister characters not scheming (well, officially they're Baratheons).

There were plans to put Tommen on the Iron Throne prior to Joffrey's death, which eventually become moot once Tommen does indeed ascend to the Throne.

Myrcella was also set to become Queen of the Westeros thanks to the Sand Snakes of Dorne & the daughter of the Prince of Dorne.
