Love the choice, he'd be a bit older than Mance in the books but it ain't a big deal. I do hope Nina Gold nab more Rome actors for the show.

This is gonna be great! I was hoping for Purefoy, bur Ciarán is really great too.

I can see him as the mentor figure /leader or men type character....it's the charm, and Mance is a charming bastard, that is the absolutely vital thing here.

I honestly don't think we'll get to see him until season four.

I find that highly unlikely. Considering it's likely they'll end season 3 on the "other" famous wedding, I think we'll see him, especially with the Tyrion stuff.

Don't worry. Once you're about 1/3rd in to A Storm of Swords, you won't be able to put it down. I remember I thought, "Wow, I'm only this far in?" and then a few days later. "Wow, I only have this much left to read?"
