I liked Thoros' actor a lot more then I thought I would.
Paul Kaye aka Dennis Pennis scourge of Hollywood in the 90s. His other alter-ego MTV character Mike Strutter was pretty nuts too.

I had no idea who that kid was. :p
As a Misfits fan I expected Theron to say "Save Me Barry"

He was too busy getting a hard on listening to her talk about killing while fondling his new crossbow.
Joffery is a sadistic monster

I liked this change, too. Cat in the book is a pretty vindictive ***** to Jon for no real reason. She's much kinder in the show and I like it. I can believe that she'd hate Jon so much that she would wish him to die. But I can also believe that she would have a change of heart (probably due to guilt) when she heard him sick and dying. As others have mentioned, she probably wishes that she had been more accepting of Jon because he wouldn't have betrayed the Starks like Theon did, he would have either rode south with Robb or protected Bran and Rickon in Winterfell.

I actually liked that scene because it helps to show how much control she's losing over Joffrey and how threatened she is by Margaery. Probably could have been shortened a little.

Agree and agree. We may not need that scene for the plot anymore than we need a scene of Jaime mocking Brienne or Sansa thinking about Littlefinger's offer. However all these scenes build characters and make the drama between them more interesting.

Good episode. Really enjoy the Tyrells as new players. Moved from one sequence to the next very smoothly, didn't drag (mostly).

Could have done without that Sam scene, though. :argh: Show the good one, dammit!

And that was Ramsey doing the torturing, yes? Seemed twisted enough to be him, but he looked henchman-ish.

Olenna Tyrell for all the thrones please, she was amazing.

Loved Margarey playing Joffrey that was an absolutely awesome scene. Love when the female characters on this show play the men like fiddles since they are so damn marginalized.

Aww shaddup!

Dont you know this show is degrading towards women.

BTW Yes, that was nicely done.

Yes it would. This show at 10 episodes cost a lot already. It is only going to keep increasing with each passing season. You want a Rome? You want the show to be left unfinished?
If the episodes were 10-15 minutes longer, at the end up the season we'd end up with a extra 2 episodes really, or a extra 2 hours.

I dont mind the 10 episodes but do with they were a full 60, 65 or even 70 minutes each. Some Sopranos episodes ran longer

The scene with Catelyn really makes me hopeful to see Jon and Catelyn cross paths again. Without spoiling too much, it would obviously be a very different situation, but still. And it would obviously have to happen in the books first... so get writing, George. :argh:

I think it means one scene will be handled very differently. Assuming they keep it.

When Robb wants to name Jon as his heir. Cat was vehemently against it, saying there was some Vale lord that was distantly related to the Starks. Robb refused because he considered Jon a brother and true Stark.

I forgot about that scene. It should be an interesting one.

Uhh... you might want to at least warn that it's a major spoiler of an upcoming event/scene.

It's not that major and Spidey's putting it in tags. Come on... :o

It's in spoiler tags. That's your warning it's a spoiler.

Honestly, I kinda doubt it will even stay since it wasn't THAT important. I think what they might do is have Robb discuss it with his council and Cat. I'd picture it like this:

Cat goes through the distant, living relatives of Starks.
Robb: How can I trust any of them with my Kingdom? Whatever little is left of it anyway.
Cat: There is...Jon.
Rob: ...and you'd be okay with that?
Cat: A Snow is not a Stark, but he does have Stark blood. And we can trust him.
Robb: Are you sure?
(Cat nods)
Robb: Very well. I'll legitimize Jon, pardon him from the Watch, and name him my heir until I have a son of my own.

Well that show is amazing but there's no denying it definitely sexualizes the women characters more than the men.

I for one am very put out that we didn't get any gratuitous bathing/ undressing scenes with mark addy before be was offer.

I'm more upset we didn't see Renly naked before he got offed. There's still hope for Loras! lol

The Sopranos didn't cost as much to film. This is similar too the Doctor Who situation.

This show has plenty of large sets but I have yet to see a set as large as Rome's Forum. Easily the most amazing set I've ever seen constructed.

Reports were that HBO/BBC's budget for the premiere of Rome was $100 million. The rest of the episodes stayed in similar budget territory. Which is why when BBC dropped out HBO alone couldn't support the show leading to cancellation. HBO hasn't made the same mistake with GOT. Plus GOT generates enough revenue that it doesn't really have budget concerns like Rome. The money is there. CGI is better and they have learned the meaning of conservative sets.

And for the love of the red god can't hodor get a little of that tonks action?

i wonder if the guy that is pretending to help theon is really ramsey

Joffrey's a real piece of work isn't he. The irony of the spawn of incest lamenting on renly's "degeneracy".
