I think the real news here isn't 2011 or 2012.
I think what we take away from this for fact is that Nolan is back.

You guys started having a real discussion instead of just wildly speculating like the rest of us and you killed the thread.

I tend to agree, something tells me Thor is going to flop big time.
Premature but I'd rather see The Green Hornet. I find Rogen likable.Everyone says that.
That's what I thought when I first heard about the movie too.
They should get Shia Lebouf to play Robin.
NO robin, PERIOD.

Robin is nessecary for the Bat-Universe. He's just as vital a character as Batman or Joker.
But these are Bats early years, so I don't see Robin coming until a 8th or 9th film, when Nolan has probably retired from Batman movies.
Yeah...I wonder if it'll just be like a Batman Returns or Batman Forever thing where they just start off with their own story, and maybe have 1 line of dialogue that goes back on a previous film.I'd like them to keep the same sorta continuity, but in a different style and tone. I don't want someone coming in and just copying Nolans style. They should bring their own style and method to the Bat universe. But retain the same sorta continuity.
I definitely don't want another restart or reboot or whatever.
I couldn't give a rats arse if it's 3 films or 15 films, it's the quality that matters.:facepalm
Your missing the point.
Wouldn't you want a decent and roughly even number of movies for two years in a row or would you rather have it like this year and last year where last year was full of good to great films while this summer there have only been a couple of films that were actually decent?
While 2011 already seems to have a solid lineup of films 2012 doesn't aside from Avengers and I think Captain America. Instead of jam packing the summer of 2011 I would rather have Batman or hell, any other summer film go to 2012 to give us some more entertaining films that year so we're not left with slim pickings.
I think it depends on the advertising . There needs to be alot of hype and a stand out trailer.
While a date has not yet been set, the studio does want a new Batman pic for summer 2012.
