Is this a Michael Bay movie? :oldrazz:

no.....that would be "Explosions. Explosions. More Explosions. Some Slow Mo Explosions. Actress standing around looking hot. More Explosions."

:o

Anyone else seen this?

Oh, I know it's an unpopular opinion, and I agree that it opened up some great drama. I just felt the retconning was so clunky with that whole 'certain point of view' nonsense that never really fit well, at least for me.

Then on TOP of that, Lucas had to make Leia Luke's sister, but never explained how it was that Vader - who's supposed to have incredible powers - probed her mind and stood right next to her on the Death Star and never sensed that she was his daughter.

The certain point of view thing actually worked perfectly. And it was the reason after seeing that scene again Lucas decided it would work. Even the pause of Obi-Wan before he told Luke what happened to his father, in the context that they altered it made that scene even more powerful.

Vader and Leia had no idea who each other were. Vader thought there may have only been one child, and that it was dead. Leia always assumed Bail was her father. Even if he was reading her mind...he would not be able to tell that she was his daughter. She did not even know so it would be a moot point. Also you can't purely read a thought with the Force you can pick up pieces. Even Vader at the end of ROTJ still had no idea who his daughter was. He just knew he had one. It was more of the feelings of Luke that he read then his actual mind.

But with Vader and Leia having no idea of one another, again reading her mind would do nothing.

I wonder when the next announcement of anything significant is happening. They haven't even announced Johnson yet like the other two. Maybe they don't want to step on the toes of Episode VII yet. Maybe not.

I guess everyone's big hope is that they're saving some stuff for SDCC. Are Disney/LucasFilm known to even be having a panel, other the AoU?

Well Johnson has pretty much been confirmed, I think they may either just be waiting to announce VIII and IX's together perhaps, or they are just finishing up dotting the "I's" and crossing the "T"'s.

It would be nice to get something at SDCC, but I'm still weary that we will get anything. I know Disney loves to have the logo/title of their films pretty early. So maybe we would get that. LFL has a booth, but I don't think there is a Panel, maybe just one with Rebels.

Kevin Smith talks Star Wars Episode VII, confirms Stormtroopers

..........

Smith noted that he had signed a non-disclosure agreement so he couldn’t talk any specifics, but he did say that he saw costumes, characters and sets that took him back to his childhood.

"They had a sign at on the stage – I can’t even say which stage – which had the Imperial Starship logo and it said, ‘loose lips sink starships”.

“I’m really excited and you know, people keep saying that I liked the last trilogy and I did. I liked 1, 2 and 3. But I liked them as an adult, when I watched them they didn’t give me the same feeling I had when I was seven watching them for the first time and that’s fine. This movie though… Dude, I cried four times. The seven year old in me came. [J.J] has f**cking captured it, man. He has nailed it.”

Due to the non-disclosure agreement, Smith couldn’t say much more but he gave his co-host Ralph Garman a pad with some words to read out which he then nodded to in agreement. When asked, “did you see Stormtroopers?”, Smith nodded his head with the biggest smile on his face.

Smith also confirmed lightsabres and blasters, but that was pretty much a given.

Ya last week I believe. As we talked about it last week, he would not be walking around out of a wheel chair if it was 6-8 months. So that rumor continues to be bogus. Even Entertainment Tonight last night said that he would be returning to work in a few weeks.

Nice! So that may give further confirmation to some rumors as of late.

so....lightsabers, huh.

I guess that confirms Jedi. :oldrazz:

Harrison Ford Skillfully Adapts to Special Crutch After Injury

.............

Hunter spoke with Ford on the phone to coach him on how to use the crutch, but says the actor didn't need to wait for instruction.

"We're walking him through it and were like, 'Before you take your first step, here's some tips.' And he's like, 'Too late, I'm already doing it,' and was walking around the room with the cellphone," Hunter says. "This was like a day or two after his surgery, so he's still got a lot of pain."

As for how long Ford will be out of commission, "I don't know for sure, but I think he said about a month," Hunter says.

Movie News: Kevin Smith Talks STAR WARS EPISODE VII Set Visit; Confirms Stormtrooper Presence and More...

Kevin Smith revealed on stage at the Hammersmith Apollo last night that his visit to the STAR WARS: EPISODE VII set (at the request of director J.J. Abrams) made him feel like a 7-year-old boy again. While he conceded that he'd signed a non-disclosure agreement, Smith did allow his HOLLYWOOD BABBLE-ON co-host Ralph Garman to ask questions to which Kevin mostly nodded vigorously with a massive grin on his face. So, we now know that there will be blasters, lightsabers, wookies and stormtroopers. No big reveals really. What was most rewarding though, was Smith's description of the sets, revealing that "everything is tactile" and faithful to the original source material.

Best of all, Smith talked us through his boarding of the Falcon, detailing his walk up the gangplank and in to the area where Solo makes his famous speech about the Jedi religion. Again, he reveled in the fact that everything was exactly as it was in the original, right down to the seatbelts wrapped in bubble wrap to add a 'futuristic' feel. Over the course of his two-hour visit (during which he also watched a scene being shot), Smith admitted that he cried four times, telling Abrams (who reminded Smith that it was him who had introduced him to Mark Hamill many years ago) that if he can capture the same feeling of nostalgia on film that he experienced while being there, he's already won.
