Ghost Rider 2 In The Works - Part 1

Fox and Sony are doing their best to polish up their Marvel films.

You know what? I believe you. :yay:
If they polish up Johnny Blaze as much as they are Peter Parker, I'm hooked. I had a lot of hope for the first Ghost Rider to be a hell-raising (literally) ass-kicker, but was disappointed in the SyFy TV-movie quality script and action.

Another thing I hope they correct is the damn soundtrack. Ghost Rider is a movie that DEMANDS ear-bleeding, head-thrashing, axe-burning heavy metal. Old school, new school, combination, I don't care --- but it *definitely* deserves better than Masterbait, some tired old Ozzy and ZZ, and (dubya tee eff) Carpenters.

I think Ghost Rider needs horror, gothic orchestral music instead of heavy metal.

Yeah we know he rides a Harley-like bike but the comic premise is in essence demon vs angel thing.

Interview on the main page confirmed it for a PG-13 rating. I was hoping for an R rating from all the reactions to the footage. But PG-13 is still just as good. You can do a lot with it.

pg13 is probably the best, u can still do alot with it as brolly said, and more people will be able to see it = more $$$$

How the hell do you always make it into SDCC? I actually put a little effort in waiting for the site to come back up to get tickets and before I knew it, it was already down. I accuse you of sorcery!

heh...actually this is my 1st SDCC but yes i did use my black magic powers to make it in the line for the film though. seriously i almost didnt make it...SDCC does not clear the room before the next crowd gets in so we had 100s of people just waiting in there. i waited outside (in the nice weather though) for about 2.5 hrs to get in but w/ no guarantee that we might make it.
overall...it looked alot better than the 1st. GR is covered w/ that same "tar bubbles" that was on the burnt hellcycle. skull looked like it might be covered in it too...cant be too sure. no spikes...they are going for a much more toned down look this time. he does use a chain. he throws one dude high into the air and then violently pulls him back down w/ it.
blackout looked like a albino w/ long white hair. couldnt really tell much other than that.
Blaze mentioned something in the trailer about how the force that was inside him was becoming more uncontrollable and couldnt be trusted.

Im still hesitant about this cause of the dramatically cut budget but at least it "looks" fun.

getting late here...and im sooooo damn tired. if anyone has any questions feel free to ask and ill do my best to answer them.

Hey Big Gun, did Ghost Rider look radically different from the first films design and what all cool stuff did it show him and Blackout doing (besides the fire pissing and vomitting)?

I can deal with PG-13. I swear, my opinion on this rating is ever changing. Captain America was easily the most violent PG-13 flick i've seen in a while.

Ghost Rider can easily fit under that umbrella of "creature violence". When it comes to violence an R rating usually only happens when it is heavy HUMAN blood and gore....that kinda stuff.

Bummer about the PG-13 rating.

This.
They are already in European locations and going for the horror elements of GR so a more gothica nd orchestral would be much better. Hell, it could be a mix of heavy metal and gothic themes.

ahh the good old days of pg-13... when jurassic park violence was all over.. *sniffle* i miss those days

Say what you will about the final film but Wolfman had a pretty good score that would work for a film like this.

We have trailers for movies coming out a year from now, and we still don't have the trailer for a February movie!

GR looked pretty much like he did in the last film...only sans spikes and that tar bubble effect. if you have seen the on set pics of the stunt person in the leather jacket and pants thats pretty much it. flame effects on the skull are improved though.
Blackout didnt do much other than grab someone and lift him up..not much other than just 2 quick shots of screen time.
Showed GR tearing the road up on his bike, throw a dude into the air pull him back down, the bullet spit, and wrapping his chain around the back fender of a car and pulling it back. did have one scene of a guy looking up at GR saying "oh my god". Vibe is that they are going for a much more frightening GR this time...we will see if they can pull that off but at least he seems to be more threatening this time

All over the internet and still nothing?

Were you guys stripped naked of all your things? No one had a cell phone? WOW this is depressing..

HFM

Ghost Rider doesn't have spikes this time?

Aw man, bummer. That's like the only thing they did right in the last film, was his design.

sorry they were super strict on any photos being taken of the footage..watching everyone like a hawk. i had to wait several hrs outside to maybe be able to get in and wasnt about to screw it up and get thrown out for taking pics. besides my cell phone and camera are old pieces of crap :woot::cmad:

and to Brolly...it looked like they were going more for the look from Road to Damnation. pretty much just a basic bike and leathers.

Cool, what do you mean by "tar bubble effect" and did he punch the guy after he pulled him down out of the air?

Oh and how much different does GR's face look and did he lift the car off the ground when he pulled it back?

take another look at the hellcycle (that one that looks like burnt charcoal ). GR has that same black, bubbly stuff all over his outfit (jeans/jacket/ect) Texture of the skull looked a bit darker but more detailed this time (at least from what i could see from the monitor). other than that the skull structure seems to look the same from the last movie.
couldnt tell if he punched the guy or just threw him into the air...im guessing he threw him. the car..i think...lifted it off the ground. everything was going so fast i was trying to take it in...heh
