This just proves Football is going to kill Gotham next season. That is a shame. I wanted more seasons but I don't think that is going to happen.

Football Thursday nights is weaker than Monday nights. How does this follow?

Isn't football on Monday on cable? If it is than Monday does not count. CBS has more eyeballs. I think this move is very bad. If probably will kill Gotham.

I'm retired, so every day is a holiday for me. Plus last Monday was the Supergirl season finale. So of course I will tune in.

gotham has fanbase that will stick with it.not unlike when cw sent smallville to die on friday and it's fanbase keep it alive and one of cw's biggest hits.yes i know difference between fox and cw.gotham fanbase showing up on thursday will detmine if gotham goes into 5th season.and many in past wrote gotham premature death.

Last year Gotham premiered with Lucifer (1.3) and also got 1.3. First 2 episodes of The Orville started with solid 2.7 and 2.2 (in Sunday of course), so I think Gotham can still reach 1.2-1.3.

All the other networks were still in repeats. Four of said repeats beat or tied Gotham, including American Ninja Warrior.

Not a grest debut but not a disaster either. We'll see how ot holds up when the competition is back.

First episode in official time slot of The Orville doing not much better than Gotham is good news (obviously that was Gotham's season premiere though).

My prediction for the season 3 finale was 0.95. My prediction for 4 premiere was 0.9-1.1.

So I'll make another prediction. Gotham season 4 finale 0.7-0.8. I'd say the odds of renewal for a short fifth is 50%.

gotham up against grey's anaymoty and football got 0.8 in the demo.this isn't bad considering much tougher competion than on monday night.

So compared to last week (in which Gotham mostly competed with reruns) dropping only 0.2 this week with all the fierce competitors (football on CBS, Grey's premiere and NBC comedies) is really stable. Even if Fox tried putting Lethal Weapon's 2nd episode in Gotham's slot yesterday I don't think it could avoid fractional. I think next week rating will be better since Grey and Superstore won't have premiere episodes.

Oh well realistically there won't be season 5 anyway (or at least a full season 5) considering Gotham is expensive and isn't in-house production. I can live with that since the biggest reason I want Gotham to continue is to see David grow (physically) into his role, but now that he probably won't get any taller (though of course his face will still age) I'm content with 4 seasons.

I am surprised by the 0.2 drop here. In my book that's worse than I expected, though of course, not "much" worse. Obviously.

Let's hope for a rebound next week. My hope is we may get the show to 100 episodes. But like... some doomsayer on reddit talked about how the show can't afford to drop more after the first episode. That was a bit silly. But it certainly can't afford to set a season average of 0.7.

at this point i am cautasly optimistic.at this point i would say there is 60%
chance of season 5.remember throught season 3 i was saying i felt there would be season 4.

basicly it will come down to what are fox's hour long shows not empire doing
and how it does on thrusday.i think noone seriously thought it wouldn't take a hit on thursday.the biggest worry is what it does with the big bang theory on thursday.I will adjust my thoughts ons eason 5 then.

Just for comparison, Lucifer debuted to a 1.1 last night while The Gifted scored a 1.5 leading out of it. Very good results for both.

I'm not sure I'd consider Gifted premiering at 1.5 a very good result. I hoped for more and I don't know where it will end up in a couple episodes.

1.1 is very good for Lucifer considering it didn't score above 0.9 for its last 4 episodes of season 2.
