You will tell me you don't recognize some recycled bits from Williams' work on Star Wars? Around 4:07 in particular is the same music from the chase in Attack of the Clones, but not just that - the entire track sounds like it was made for Star Wars. And this is just one example, if you're a fan of Williams' you'll find out many more similarities between his work on different movies. Even the people who consider Williams a God can't deny that his music often sounds very similar and he reuses some motives and cues here and there.

That's true I noticed as well when I first saw COS, but every film composer is guilty of recycling bits from their previous work. Project862006 was just pointing out that the theme from Molossus isn't that original itself, b/c the poster he was responding to believed it was original. And I agree that Molossus sounds like that piece from "Black Rain", when I saw BB for the first time. It doesn't help that the BR piece was used in countless trailers in the 90s as well. So it really stuck out in BB for me. Nobody's trying to turn this into a Zimmer/Williams war.

That was my point, I was just illustrating it with the brightest example from my memory (that and the Boggart scene from Prisoner of Azkaban which has a cue from Indiana Jones' snake music). I noticed that cue when I first saw COS as a kid and I had to run the VHS of both movies just to be sure that I'm not crazy. Didn't have internet at home at the time, so I wasn't entirely sure. I just wanted to point out that even a big name like Williams does this kind of thing.

Also, Across the Stars from Episode II reminds me a lot of one of the main themes from Hook. Can't blame him for borrowing though, as I feel his Hook score is an underrated gem.

You're begrudging him for his influence?

Nope. I'm saying when a theme is so simple that it is just two notes, statistically its very likely those two notes will wind up paired in a different film. Because that's all it is. Two notes.

Its not an influential theme so much as one that can be cut and pasted in almost any action film.

Original for the character and the franchise, something fresh is what I was stating. The fact that all composers recycle ideas is inevitable, my point was that it doesn't sound particularly unique or defined yet. It sounded just like background music during an action sequence of some kind, hence me hoping for a more fleshed out theme heard at some point in the film.

That link @ 1:15 is surprising though

I'd guess "Man of Steel" but what does Han's original sketchbook mean??

Thanks for that link Jamie. If the tracks are in order it looks like Krypton or Krypton flashbacks might take up 40% of the film which is fine with me.

I agree with Zorex. Most of the time, film score releases are organized as listening experiences, not necessarily in chronological order.

Even John Ottman's SR score album was arranged similarly.

Had the privilege of listening to parts of the finished MoS score by @HansZimmerMusic. The trailer already blew me away, but THAT? *faints*

It might actually be. The last track of the score CD is Zimmer's original demo track. Given that he has indicated that the trailer music is partially demo tracks and that they will be on the released Soundtrack, it seems you may get your wish.
