Hans Zimmer Scoring The Man of Steel - Part 2

Sweet nectar! I shut all the lights off in the room and am going to lay back and imagine what's going on in the scenes with the music!

Molossus, the Joker's theme and Batman's theme makes me feel like he was the right guy.

Just to be clear, my point wasn't that he was the "wrong" guy. It's just that I don't think of it in terms of their only being one right guy for the job when there are plenty of other capable and talented composers out there.

But I'm a huge fan of the Dark Knight Trilogy scores and I'm glad Zimmer did them. I can't imagine any other composer in Hollywood doing what he did for Joker's theme and Bane's theme.

But then doesn't that make him the right person?

Awesome! I ripped the audio and then split them into individual tracks with iTunes.

Including the Trailer music, samples, and fully released songs we have now heard 41:21 of the soundtrack so far and yet that is not even half of the full soundtrack which totals 1:58:18. Even if you subtract the Man Of Steel (Hans' Original Sketchbook) which is 28:16 long we have still only heard less than half of the score.

Brilliant. I'm a fan of Williams' main march and the Krypton theme. But overall, I'm preferring what Zimmer has done. I've said it before, but this music is making me more of a Superman fan.

Ok, it's time for this to leak. Let go, Watertower Music. Let go...

If they're following the TDKR pattern (and it looks like they are), you don't have too many refreshes left.:woot:

Maybe June 4th they'll leak the score? It's 10 days before the film is released and it'll be exactly what happened to TDKR score.

*sigh*

No one but lil old me remembers that James Newton Howard contributed to Begins / TDK, apparently.

That's probably why JNH didn't join up for TDKR but, don't be crazy. He was SORELY missed in the third go a round IMO. TDK is still my favorite movie score.

That's dedication right there

I'm really not sure if I want to listen to the soundtrack before seeing the movie. Would be amazing to hear some of the music for the first time in theatres but I love my soundtracks and this is gonna be a serious test of will.

Goodbye my son is the most wonderful thing I 've heard this year. The whole lullaby at the start of the song that evolves into, what I think is the Superman theme, is so damn emotional... I can picture Jor-El and Lora watching the little vessel going away... I 'm gonna cry...

Yeah, I'm hoping this happens. Sooner the better. The 90 second samples are sating my appetite, but I need moar! It's unapologeticly sci-fi and rousing stuff. :woot:

I remember WaterTower music releasing 90 sec samples of TDKR then the track getting released literally a couple of days later.

However if they are following a different pattern we wont get it till next tuesday.

I still think Launch is the theme. You can hear bits of it in every song up until that one.

Yes and the same thing happened to The Amazing Spider-man score. I remember having the 30 secs, then upped to 1 minute and then upped to 1 minute and 30 seconds. It leaked a few days after.

The problem is, I don't think there will be an official theme. A case could be made for the French horns, trumpets, string section, guitars, heavy drums heard in FLIGHT. Granted, his work on Batman had what I recall two main THEMES and definitive notes -- the music is featured in both the final scenes of TDK and TDKR but overall, I was very disappointed with TDKR. For the longest time, Hans said Batman hadn't earned his true theme yet then once the final score was released, it still didn't have a true theme. Instead it was stuff rehashed from Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and a couple new things for Rises.

I'm hoping the same thing doesn't happen with MoS. I would like to think there'll be a theme for many to recognize throughout the film and future Superman movies. I think with Superman, Hans has a lot more stuff he can do in terms of adding emotion to his score and based on some previews, they are emotional indeed.

:wow: Whoa I thought Zimmer was magnificent in his work in The Dark Knight Trilogy, he seems to have elevated his game ten fold for Man of Steel if this series goes to a 3-part trilogy I hope he remains on board.

Don't get me wrong, I love Zimmer. Loved all four POTC soundtracks, TDK trilogy soundtracks and many more from him. But I'm having a hard time with this so far. I'm afraid it's gonna get a lot of flak. It's very electronic and even has an electric guitar featured in some tracks, which seems strange for a Superman movie. I can wait to see how it plays on screen, but I haven't been wow'd, so far. It's almost like those relaxing therapy CDs in parts. I guess I prefer more orchestra with Supes.

I may be crazy, but I had an odd observation yesterday. I was listening to the radio, and the song Carry On from Fun was playing. Being that I've been listening to trailers and samples non stop of the Man of Steel's theme I couldn't help but pick up on some very familiar beats and rhythms that sound close if not identical to Carry On. Just wondering if anyone else noticed the piano beats sounding eerily similar to the beginning of trailer 2.

Hans Zimmer has delivered in clutch ness...This is big time soundtrack
