Guys, I wouldn't worry about a MOS2 sequel so much. Gotham City Sirens is happening, and David Ayer was talking about it just the other day, yet it wasn't on the slate. I mean, feel free to worry and to express that. I'm just saying, there could be another way to look at it.
Superman was the catalyst and the beginning of this shared universe, and his first phase is over. In fact, since he seems to be used to launch arcs that lead into team up films, I suspect that MOS2 and JL2 would go hand in hand in some way. It's time to establish everyone else like Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern, and Batman in their first solo films with smaller films like Shazam! and SS2 filling in the gaps.
The director who developed Superman's trilogy is done for personal reasons, and a new creator to helm one and maybe future projects has to be found. If you see how long it's taken Flash to develop, and how much of a director-driven project Matt Reeves' trilogy is likely to be, it makes sense that there will be a pause in news and development for Superman films. Wonder Woman doesn't have similar demands, because it does have a director likely to be attached and a character who is used in more standalone fashion.
That said, I understand the disappointment. As a greedy Superman and Lois fan, I would have been thrilled to get more news. I get why we didn't, though, and I don't see it as some ominous sign. I'm also extremely excited and happy for the other projects coming up. Even the ones I'm not personally that invested in, I'm pleased about, because I know they will make others happy.
In the meantime, the new trailer's Superman content filled me with joy and anticipation. Gadot's comment, too, was encouraging. I'm content.
