Just his range of emotions from this footage gives me so much hope. I have a feeling his performance will be the best we've seen for the character. Those top images are seriously straight from a comic book. I don't even see his character from Immortals... all I can see is Superman.

Remember though, this isn't a trailer, it's clip on E! and they never catch the essence of the film whenever i see their clips.
But it's a safe bet the scale will be smaller than 300 I'd imagine.

Not really. I have yet to see a film featuring Cavill. So most of the images I've seen of him have been taken from events/paparazzi. I've really only seen Superman in a handful of them (mostly photos taken in the last few months). But it has more to do with his acting. Seeing his emotions through expressions and dialogue.

Now take Joe Manganellio who came very close to getting the role. I have never seen Superman in him. I've watched him in a few things and I can now say I'm so extremely glad he did not get this role.

So yeah, seeing Superman in the actor has nothing to do with him being cast. Hell, even Cage almost got it. Did anyone see Superman in him besides Burton or Peters? BLEH!

Oh okay. Yeah, that was definitely Cavill. I thought he meant the dude doing the extreme high-dive into the ocean. Logic would lead me to think it's Poseidon but it looked like Cavill to me. But if he did have a trident (didn't see that) it's definitely Poseidon.

Cavill seems really tailor fitted for the role. I just hope the production team doesn't screw up his look for Superman like they did with Routh. In other words, the suit better be spot-on this time around; and the hair, aside from being dyed black, ought to look natural -- not gooped down and rigid-like. I've got faith in Snyder though. Watchmen and 300 were amazing pieces of work, after all (at least from where I stand).

hmm...i meant the guy flying down and hitting the ocean. That totally looked like Cavill. I could be wrong though....
