BTW, how do you pronounce Cavill's last name? Is it Cav-ul or Cav-il? I have heard it both ways, so I'm not sure.

Lutz looks to have the body more appropriate for Cap I think. Somewhat hyper realized, Clark should just look well built and super healthy. (like his father)

Jensen Ackles (in the middle here) is 6"1 for reference - a similar height to Cavill. He's not short by any means, but when you put him beside the other 2 it definitely makes him look small.

Lutz has a way way better body type.
Much bigger, wider chest, broader shoulders.
Cavill is big too, but not in the same way Lutz is. Not all bodies develop the same way.
Even from that picture one can clearly see, Lutz is considerably broader. And if you know how hard it is to actually develop a build like Lutz has, it would be easier to understand just how long it takes to grow that little extra width.
In closing, Cavill is not THAT type of big. He has his own distinct look.
I understand that Cavill only had like 6-7 months of workout, and maybe he's a hard gainer in which a lot more time is needed to grow. But I do show understanding though, it sure as hell isn't easy to grow to Lutz's size in a matter of months, that's why I think we might have to wait for he sequel to see a really jacked Cavill.

And just so I don't get accused of wanting a bodybuilder ( as if Cavill is anywhere near that). Lutz's size is what I consider to be ideal.

LOL. Judging by those pics, i think he is too big. I dont want Superman anywhere near that.

I thought that too, but the problem is you often judge his height from the show or from stills - and in that case, even Lois only looked a couple of inches shorter than him. There was obviously a strong use of camera angles and boxes. Photos of Welling in 'real life' tend to show his true size better.

Love him or hate him, I think physically Welling was as close to a perfect Superman body (in seasons 4-8 at least) that we'll get. Not a bodybuilder or really ripped, but just a big, muscley strong looking guy. The photo of him below with John Schneider (who's 6"3) is a good contrast with the recent Cavill pic; although they're both wearing baggy shirts in their respective photos, there's no disguising Welling's shoulders or chest.

Personally I never thought that Welling ever got to the point where he stopped looking like a college kid. And I'm not talking about having broad shoulders, I mean his face.
But then again I never saw the appeal of Smallville at all.
Not trolling, just saying I can never get those people who bang on about Welling being perfect for Superman. No way.

When you look at Brad Pitt who was pushing 40 when he did Troy and went from 160 lbs in Fight Club to 185 lbs of muscle in Troy the guy looked amazing , big and ripped and defined all in the span of 7 months. I am disappointed in Cavill current size but will hold out in hopes that he is allowed to do more training because at current it is freaking ridiculous not to mention the guy probably has chicken legs (I mean no disrespect to anyone it’s a term often used among weight lifters and not meant as a slur towards Cavill).

Pitt went from 160 to 185...that's 25 pounds, which is exactly how much heavier Cavill said that he currently is than when he filmed Immortals. as for his legs...if there is not much indication of his physique from his shirt there is even LESS pants, so i'm not sure how you're assuming he has chicken legs.
