Henry Cavill IS Superman: - Part 5

I really only liked the beginning of Birthright. Clark traveling the globe and coming back to Smallville is fine. I'd say 1/3 globetrotting, 1/3 smallville, and 1/3 Metropolis.

The Batman Begins flashbacks were confusing IMO. I just couldn't understand what I was watching at times. Its in the present, then its in the past, then its in the present again, then its in the past that looks like the present, then...:hehe:

But of course, after watching it again over 100 times (like you have to really do to understand Nolan's films) I finally understood it.
.

You're being sarcastic right?

...
Right?

Yep, a linear narrative will kill the origin. Has to be fresh and exiting and not feel like something you have to sit through before the action starts.
.

Exactly.

Even I, as a Superman fan, would get fidgety if I had to sit through the origin told like a 'This is your life' special.

The GA certainly isn't going to appreciate.

It's kind of like with GL. There, they were trying to find a balance between space and earth.

Here we need to find the balance of origin between his past and present.

Movies like Spiderman, Iron Man, GL etc, didn't need to worry about that because their stories took place almost entirely in the present bar the occasional reference.

Batman and Superman are a bit more complicated because to understand how they become the heroes they do, you have to make a fews stops along the way in the past, because the circumstances leading up to it spread throughout their whole life.

With Spiderman, it was 'gets bit by a spider, gets powers, uncle ben dies, becomes a hero'. The whole process of him becoming Spiderman lasted like a week. Easy to keep that in the present in a film.

Though it looks like the new film is actually trying to make it more about Peter's past, which should be much more interesting IMO.

...
Right?

If I'm not, are going to kill me? :D

I'm exaggerating a bit. But when I saw it the first time, I was like "Ehh?" But after thinking on what I was seeing, I was like "Oh, its a flashback" :hehe:

New small interview with Cavill about his diet and the suit

“It’s extremely cool. There’s no other feeling like it.
“They just put it on, I turned around and look in the mirror and you can’t really play it cool – you sort of guffaw and laugh. I thought ‘OK, holy hell, this is real, it’s not a joke anymore. This is it…you’re doing it, you’re right in the middle of it.’”

I can't handle all this talk!! lol
Hearing this stuff kills me!

article sounds fake, since the release date is totally wrong

As a Word Nerd, I appreciate his use of the word "guffaw."

Lol me too! :D

It's so easy to see he's being honest as well. He doesn't over exaggerate anything. He just tells it like it is.

Cause who on earth wouldn't laugh if they were humble and modest? You don't see what everyone else sees. Everyone else sees Superman. You just see yourself dressed up like Superman.

We can't have our boy wasting away on a meager 2000 calories a day.

5000 cals a day is nothing to his super-metabolism.

Assuming you are being serious....please don't watch Memento or the Prestige. For your sake.

it would be kind of neat if Clark didn't really know (much ) about his alien heritage beforehand. then, we would get to learn about his heritage and Krypton as he does......

Yeah, the way they handled that in Birthright was brilliant. It was the first time (outside of Smallville... ugh) that I've really seen Clark and his family actively trying to figure it all out over time. Usually he just finds a crystal or some other device and Jor-El tells him everything. The Birthright model made it a hell of a lot more interesting and the end scene was actually very touching (something that's hard to pull of in a comic book).

would be a nice touch if they incorporated something similar to the ending......where he receives that message from his birth parents.

The first shot CAN'T be far off with Cavill talking about what it was like to put on the suit... come on Snyder/WB, make it happen!

Maybe they're slowly warming up for the reveal giving us tidbits from Cavill himself.

BTW, the word "guffaw" made me slightly nervous. It means he bursted out laughing when he saw himself suited up. I hope it was fuelled by how awesome he looked instead of silly.

I'd say it was fuelled by modesty.

If he'd looked at himself and gone 'Damn I look good in this' I'd be more worried about his vanity.

Anyone would be humbled into a laugh out of shock and nerves and build up. It's just natural. Especially when it's a dream come true that your still trying to get to sink in.
