From what it looks like it was switched back to "Wide" on the 6th of March. Henry Cavill fan site posted it on twitter yesterday morning that it went back to wide release. I checked on it and from what it looks like they are correct.

Cool I'm looking forward to it

So I finally got round to watching Immortals last night. Film wasn't bad, but Henry Cavill definitely stood out - good performance, lots of screen presence and and very adept at the action scenes. Definitely bodes well for MOS.

:D

I know there were plenty of bad reviews of Immortals overall, but were there any bad comments made about Henry? I don't remember any. It seems to be pretty agreed all round that he was good :)

 I really enjoyed it myself, Henry definitely stood out

The guy in the Metro paper said he was wooden but seriously that guy doesn't like anything. I really think he's negative just because he can be.

Immortals was a successful movie, it had a production budget of 75 mil. and it made more than 200 mil.

IMDB rating - 6.3 /10

Meta Critic Score - 46 / 100

Rotten Tomatoes Average rating - 5 / 10.

This is a trend, critics judge actors' acting ability more severely if he is good looking.

I didn't know it had made that much.

Yeah critics annoy the hell out of me

This may have already been brought up, but does anyone think Cavill as Supes somewhat resemble Steve Reeves?

Another Reeve(s) that could've been Superman...Gotta love it! :woot:

Is there Something ? Maybe Not.

Steve Reeves - not only resembles Henry Cavill, but often played a strongman type character associated with early version of Superman.

George Reeves, Christopher Reeve played the most popular versions of Superman.

Keanu Reeve played Neo who has powers similar to Superman, he almost was like Superman in Matrix trilogy.

Now, look at some of the directors that WB had in consideration for making MOS, one was Matt Reeves there were even rumors of but him turning it down as his last name was Reeves and some sites were claiming that it may be that - he was thinking about the "Superman " curse.

Meh, I guess there's always one :p

Wooden though? He was like the opposite of wooden to me... If I could describe his performance in one word it would be 'natural' or 'honest'.

Personally I find the biggest problem is that the majority of the rest of the cast deliver their lines really badly and it creates a contrast between Cavill and the rest of the speech in the film.

For instance, when Cavill and Pinto are talking by the fire.

They both have kind of badly written dialogue. I mean, the whole film kind of does. But Cavill pulls it off like it's something a person would actually say, and she fails to do that - her lines sounds rehearsed and unnatural.

I fear that MOS dialogue may not be that much better either, Goyer has a tendency to write some bad dialogue. ("I am incapable of Emotion.")

Taking a break from forum for a week.

I can't wait to see the statistics behind this.

I don't think it'll be bad. I just don't see Amy Adams or Michael Shannon coming into a project with a bad script...

And I still doubt that is going to be an actual line in the movie :p

I have no idea how you guys can so harshly judge a scene and it's dialogue without having any contex or seeing the scene in action.

I know he was far from wooden

That's basically what I'm saying... I'm not judging the script based on the few clunky lines of dialogue that have been 'leaked' and may be just a case of bad chinease whispers and not even BE the actual line; or the line just makes no sense out of context.

Yeah we can't judge the script yet when we don't no any actual dialogue.

Also I know Goyer doesn't have the best track record but he gets a bum rap, he contributed to both the Batmam Begins & the Dark Knight and I'm sure he wrote some of the good dialogue.

He only outlined the story of TDK. Jonah wrote the dialogue.

Before posting the actual dialogue which they say they got in an email, they wrote this: The following is my rough interpretation being I cannot post “Thee” actual email for fear of blowing my sources cover
I think this went over peoples heads here, the dialogue is their (NTF) interpretation of the actual thing - if the thing is real to begin with! (probably). And as far as I understand the person who sent the email claims to have seen the footage of it, which after the supposed dialogue becomes inaudible. So it could be that the original dialogue, which NTF interpreted to protect the source was not properly interpreted to begin with...ugh, makes my head spin.

Anyway, the whole Lois/Faora exchange thing seems to be true, based on the pics (although it could be a number of other things going on, so I remain skeptical), but the dialogue could be completely different and is admittedly not even the real thing. Clearing this up, perhaps now the ´´I am incapable of emotion`` can retire. :woot:

If the scene description is true, I could see Faora saying something (When Meloni objects to taking Lois) to indicate that Lois Lane's life means nothing to her, so she would be dead already if Zod didn't want her. But I really doubt they'd go with such a poor line.

And back to the topic, im glad ACLOD is getting a wide release, I hope this sticks. I also hope we got some new interviews with Henry soon.

Fair enough but some of the good ideas were probably his

I think he's good when he works with Nolan which he did on MOS

Indeed. Let’s give the benefit of the doubt to the NTF guy - that he has an authentic source. But his reporting/writing style leaves a bit to be desired and inspires some skepticism. For instance, he says that he has “good sources… mostly in the industry working as grips, craft services, or other jazz…[who] treated [me] to some behind the scenes footage…” So how does someone who serves sandwiches on the set have access to footage? And how is this person able to “treat” someone else to it?

Be that as it may… he then describes some emails which elaborate on this footage. Why? Wasn’t the first viewing clear enough? Or are we talking about new footage now? Or, perhaps, “treat” doesn’t mean that NTF saw any footage at all; perhaps “treat” meant an email description all along.

In any case, at least some of it seems to be third-hand information: NTF is paraphrasing the content of an email from a guy who (allegedly) saw actual footage. So the dialogue that’s being reported (“interpreted”) has to be taken, I think, with a big grain of salt.

Agree completely. It sort of seems like just because they have supplied pictures, all of the info is suddenly unquestionable... I'm sorry, but I have to see it to believe it.

And I'll we've seen is that Amy was indeed filming at Edwards Airbase with Antje and Henry (in supes costume).

I wonder if there's any chance of an Immortals 2 I mean they left it open at the end with the war and it was a box office success.

Possibly... But I don't know if Tarsem would direct. Kinda like the 300 sequel.

I doubt it. It wasn't that big of a success and the reception wasn't very good either. Mostly underwhelming. 300 did twice as much in the box office as Immortals on a (pressumably) 10 mil less budget. And, the public mostly really liked it. I remember the hype when the movie came out. Immortals didn't have nearly as much. And imo, it was a rather poor movie.

I loved Immortals and I didn't care for 300

But the movie exceeded box office expectations, I'd just hope if they do a sequel that Henry would be in it again.
