I think it's not announced yet. But as far as I know it's The Man of Steel.

ya its leaning to most likely be Superman: The Man of Steel which is a pretty good title in my book. also every interview he has done as of late he has been saying alot of good things. Cant wait to see how the film turns out.

I've been seeing "Man of Steel" among different website, but nothing is official yet. I suspect that the title will be announced soon. At least within the next couple of months, I would think. I'm just guessing of course.

well that seems like the most likely title and when SR was at those early chances of 2006/early 2007 most thought that would be title for sequel if that had happened(i am still glad it never did).

I think MoS has been the name for the film since Superman Returns came out. That seemed like it was the most logical choice for a sequel/reboot, especially after Nolan used "The Dark Knight" for his Batman sequel.

Exclusive: Talking 'The Man of Steel' With Zack Snyder
By Kellvin Chavez on March 21, 2011

Over the weekend, director Zack Snyder was promoting his upcoming movie "SUCKER PUNCH" and spoke to the press about the film and his upcoming Superman project. Today, I had a chance to actually speak to him on the phone about his movie that is due out in theaters on Friday and about the Man of Steel.

I really tried to ask him questions about the project that other folks have not asked, but Snyder has already spoken about how Henry Cavill won the role. He also mentioned how this Superman has nothing to do with the previous films and that this new reboot will be like the other films didn't exist.

He was still quiet on specific details on much the project. I managed to get a few questions in and cleared up the whole Viggo Mortensen casting.

You've said that this new Superman was not going to be related to the previous ones and act as if they didn't exist a la "Batman Begins.” What do you want to bring to this Superman film that was not brought on the previous ones?

Zack Snyder: I don’t think it’s about trying not to do what’s been done. It’s just when I say that I mean that’s a way for us to start fresh and kind of be able to say what mythology do we want to sort of endorse or exploit. Look all of us involved with project have a great respect for Superman. Trust me when I say I want this movie to be awesome and I want Superman to be awesome, you know that’s true. It’s not so much about like what I do and don’t want to do in regards to what’s been done, we need to like…I think for the audiences stake you want us to shed that…let that weight off our shoulders so we can go and make a great movie.

Will the film have a big Kryptonian mythology?

Zack Snyder: I can’t say because it gives too much away, but it’s safe to say that we have a great respect for the character.

Being that you have strong female components in your movies, will we see a strong female character in Superman?

Zack Snyder: I can’t say of course. I wish I could straighten it out for you at this moment but I can’t really.

Come on we broke Superman stories already…

Zack Snyder: (Laughs) I feel that.

Okay how about this...Is Viggo Mortensen still a person of interest in Superman now that he’s locked into Snow White?

Zack Snyder: Yeah Viggo is not going to be in the movie let’s say that right now. I can clear that up.

Will this Superman be Luthor-Less?

Zack Snyder: I can’t answer that [laughs].

Is it true that Lois Lane has to be in the film due to legal issues?

Zack Snyder: Oh, jeez. I didn’t know that. We’re not doing anything as far as the story goes that’s influenced by any legal issue.

Can you elaborate where you are at with the film?

Zack Snyder: Yeah, we’re just in pre-production right now, we’re working every day trying to get it together and it’s looking awesome and we are going to probably start shooting at the end of the summer.

I guess this Superman film and the Donner film have something in common? They were released in December.

Zack Snyder: Oh yeah, although I’m not even sure if that date will hold but if does then that will be awesome.

The full interview with Zack will be online later this week.

I hope the movie is released in December. It would be awesome to see a Superman movie during the Christmas holidays.

Well I guess it will all count how filming goes/post production. Best thing would be dec next yr release. Definately needs to happen before fall 2013 with all the pending copyright stuff.

Amy Adams will be Lois Lane
This just in — three-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams will play journalist Lois Lane in Hollywood’s revival of “Superman.”

The 36-year-old star got the news on Sunday from director Zack Snyder, who phoned her from Paris, where he was promoting his just-opened film, “Sucker Punch.” There had been a crush of Hollywood interest in the lead female role in the Warner Bros. project but Snyder said that after meeting with Adams, she was the clear choice to take on a character that dates back to 1938 and has long represented the strong, professional woman who can hold her own against any man – even if he can leap tall buildings in a single bound.

“There was a big, giant search for Lois,” Snyder said. “For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it.”

Snyder declined to discuss the precise prominence of Lois in the story or any plot details about the film but he said the role is “a linchpin” to the project and that he considers it essential that Lois — a Roosevelt-era creation – arrives on screen in 2012 with contemporary appeal and spirit.

“It goes back to what I’ve said about Superman and making him really understandable for today. What’s important to us is making him relevant and real and making him empathetic to today’s audience so that we understand the decisions he makes. That applies to Lois as well. She has to be in the same universe as him [in tone and substance].”

In the still-untitled Superman film, Henry Cavill will play Clark Kent and the Man of Steel. Kevin Costner and Diane Lane are set to play the Kents, the adoptive parents of the last son of Krypton.

Haha webhead didn't realize she was cast.

WEBHEADZ0R!

Didn't see she was signed yet was just checking other trades/news sites and nothing is reported yet.

NOW THAT JUST AMAZING former Smallville alumni (Jodi Melville Season 1 "Craving") is the new LOIS LANE .

Well what I meant was after looking at that image post I went searching all the big trades/news sites and no one was reporting it yet. But still coool amy looks great and is a good actress.

If this is true, then the role of Lois Lane has passed down from Erica Durance to Amy Adams. She appeared in Smallville's 1st season. How interesting that things go full circle for her. :super:
