I saw this in the SM4 boards about The Lizard, so I figured this can be used here too. How pissed would you be if they didn't use Riddler?

Not that pissed.

On a side note: Why is every word in caps?

Meh, whatever.

Nolan knows what he's doing, so if anything, I'd be pissed just because Nolan and brother didn't come back.

I don't really want the Riddler that much (but Nolan would do wonders with him or hell, any villain). I just want Catwoman.

I'd like to see the Riddler, but I wouldn't be pissed if he wasn't in it.

I wouldn't be pissed at all.

Batman has so many wonderful villains to choose from.

I think Riddler is a poor villain
so I wouldnt be pissed at all

I dont want the Riddler in the movie so I wouldnt be very pissed.

I just don't get what there is to be pissed about, unless it's a bad movie, or we get some cheap knock-off of The Riddler.

Yeah. I could understand an upset if we went through three movies without Joker ever being used, but...really, who cares who we get, so long as the movie is at least as good as Begins.

I hate Riddler. I think he would make TDK Sequel rather boring, so on the contrary, i'd be happy.

Wouldn't really care. I could see the Riddler working in Nolan's universe, maybe as some kind of serial killer ala "Seven" but the way the Dark Knight ended, he's just not big enough of a threat. Batman is an outcast, wanted for murder, the city is on the brink of total collapse and still recovering from the hysteria created by the Joker. Something really, really big is going to come around, and I don't think it'll be the Riddler.

I'd be delighted, same goes for Catwoman; I don't want either of them in the next film.

Problem is that I feel Nolan has already used up the truly great Batman villains, or at least the great ones that'll work within the world he's created. I just cannot imagine any kind of Catwoman character working in this universe. Mr. Freeze, though one of my favorites, would never work either. Black Mask isn't nearly as well known to the public, but would probably work as a second tier villain like Scarecrow in Batman Begins. The only one I can really see working, though barely, would be the Penguin. No crafty umbrellas or crap like that. He'd essentially become DC's version of the Kingpin, taking over Falcone's position and ingeniously bringing crime right back to the way it was before Batman showed up.

Pissed? No.
Disappointed? Maybe.

It really depends on who they pick. But The Riddler is the one I'm hoping for personally.

I think the Riddler is one of the more malleable Batman villains...In the right hands, he often becomes one of the most memorable Batvillains, unlike his status in current batcomics. Before the 60's TV show, Riddler only made two appearances in the comics....after Frank Gorshin was done with him, however, he became one of Batman's top villains. Fanboys can whine about jim Carrey all they want, but among the general audience, he's pretty much second to Jack Nicholson's Joker as the most popular Batvillain from the Burton/Schumacher series. I'd be slightly disappointed because if a truly good actor is allowed to work with Riddler, his status could be elevated again....

I like the Riddler a lot. He has a lot of potential. I would love to see him given the "Nolan-treatment"... but would I be disappointed if he wasn't the villain? No... the only villain I would be SURPRISED not to see is Catwoman. I still think TDK ends in a way that Catwoman's introduction in inevitable...

Ahhh, the Potential!!!

Not necessarily for the movie, but just imagine the Viral Games and the fun it could be for about a year or so. No other villian could keep us on our toes for that long.

Think how boring the Penguin and Catwoman would be for any viral. Bunch of penguin crap and cat piss.

I think the current production crew is up to the task of making the Riddler a first class menace to Gotham - you can bet it will be taken in directions you never thought of, and not necessarily in the traditional manner. To me that's the beauty - he has been such a minor character that no one knows what to expect, so when something comes along to blow our minds we are not dissappointed just because there was some deviance from the comics.

As long as Nolan returns, or at the very least is some way involved in the story, I wouldn't be pissed. I'm sure the next villain will be chosen for a reason.

Who said Death Stars are the only things that can destroy planets? Not...

I personally don't want or care for the Riddler in the next Batman film. Killer Croc, the Ventriloquist, or Mad Hatter are more complex and interesting than a narcissist who wants attention or solves the puzzle of Bruce Wayne's alter ego. In fact he's already done that very thing in the previous use of Jim Carrey's rendition of the character.
