MArx how would you want the Riddler portrayed
I saw this in the SM4 boards about The Lizard, so I figured this can be used here too. How pissed would you be if they didn't use Riddler?

Instead of a really really big one. There's two. lol.
I love Bane but he is another character DC used once then forgot about him after another few lesser appearances.
Riddler should just be Riddler a freak who has come about after the fall of the mob in gotham ala Dark Victory and who has an compulsion to leave riddles after the fact, ALL batmans foes should be like this in nolans vision he took so much trouble showing thier downfall so show the reaction.
The thing about him is that he isnt amazingly interesting there is no tradgic psycological story like Twoface or freeze nor is an outright flamboyant loon who kills for no real reason sometimes like Joker or a calculating mob boss on acid like Black Mask this is why i say riddler and many other batman rogues are not as interesting as the top tier 4 (imo joker, twoface, freeze, joker).
I agree that he's not as dramatic as Joker or Two Face. That is why it would seem weird if he was the only villain. But Scarecrow was a villain in the 1st (and the small scene in the 2nd). He has no history in the movies.
Which brings me to my point: ^ This is why i want him to be the secondary villain. Not a villain by force, not a villain with goons to fight. An almost invisible foe that flys solo, plays games with the public and turns them on Batman even more than before bc of his secret identity. Make him obsessive but not quirky and goofy or freaky. He is obsessed with Batman, like an extreme celeb fan.
The primary villain should be either Bane or Penguin, IMO. Bane's dramatic history and size is to be primary villain. Not to mention he could be the first physical force against Batman since Ras Al Ghul. A one on one showdown with no henchmen involved would be a great finale for Nolan's series.
Or perhaps the Penguin as a mob arms dealer that rises above the mob to control them all. A monetarily powerful figure that neither the cops nor the public would challenge.
Penguin was hinted at in the Gotham Times by talking about 'The Iceberg Lounge'.
That's interesting...I didn't know that.
I don't believe he was specifically mentioned...it was just a small story about 'The Iceberg Lounge'.
I stand corrected. It wasn't an actual story, it was an advertisement for 'The Iceberg Lounge'.

Right now I don't see nolans willingness to even do Batman 3. . . which saddens me.

Nolan acted the same way after Batman Begins.
