The Dark Knight Rises How Pissed Would You Be?

I wouldn't be disappointed if Riddler Wasn't used. We're talking about Batman here. A hero with the biggest rogue's gallery of any superhero

Spiderman would argue against that. But honestly despite Batmans massive rogues gallery VERY few are worthy of film treatment imo the fault lies with many of them not getting good coverage in the comics (for e.g Zsas is imo one of Batmans most interesting villains in the comics but you very rarely see him and of course Nolan wasted him in BB) and Nolans slight reality take hampering the inclusion of the likes of Freeze or Poisen Ivy.

I saw this in the SM4 boards about The Lizard, so I figured this can be used here too. How pissed would you be if they didn't use Riddler?

I'd be upset as he's the most interesting villain to me, the cerebral aspect more than brawn.

I'll be happy as long as we get one.

I won't be pissed as long as whoever Nolan chooses is the logical next step for a villain in his series. The Riddler would be awesome, but there are so many great choices like Bane, Black Mask, etc.

I wouldn't be pissed. I wouldn't care at all. There are many villains that are much more interesting.

I really hate a lot of spidermans enemies. I do love Venom though, but doc ock is really annoying. Carnage is tight too.

I always liked Doc Ock. Back in the day, my favorites were Doc Ock, the Goblins, Venom, and Carnage. I like others like Scorpion and Mysterio too, but just not as much as the others. I think Spider-Man has a great rogue gallery personally... There's not much to truly dislike IMO.

Doc Ock rules. All the classic Spidey villains do. The symbiote villains are the worst. Even Sam Raimi hated using Venom in SM-3. Sony forced him into it.

One of the reasons why SM-3 was so crappy.

I wouldnt mind there not being a Riddler. But if theres any chance that they can get a good actor and develope this character to be realistic which i think the Nolans can do for sure they shouldnt pass it up. Depp has already shown interest in the role and i like him for the role. If the Nolans are sure they can do it realistically and fit the character into the story they shouldnt pass up the opportunity.

yes it was.

your opinion of course but "Spidey 3 sucks!" is a silly cry from some people that took hold and still exists sure it wasnt the best of the trilogy so far but no way was it as bad as the likes of the spirit or Wolverine its only real flaw in most discussions i have seen was the inclusion of Venom.

Its not hyper realistic like TDK all the spidey films are strictly comic adventure with some scenes of drama in them for what it was SM3 was a very enjoyable movie.

I like Venom(and topher did an ok job), but the whole scene where he is dancing and doing stuff like that ruined it for me.

I think the only real problem with the raimi/spiderman franchise is that they kill off all the villains.

My favorite spiderman is still spiderman 1, but I hope 4 will change that.

Venom shouldn't have come in at least till the next one. I also don't like how all the villains are good, but also evil.

Gonna hafta totally disagree with ya there. I hate the oldie villains. They are in one word: LAME.

The symbiote and modern villains are by far the coolest in Spidey's Rogue gallery.

Doctor Octopus, Electro, Lizard, Kraven, Mysterio, Rhino, Scorpion, and Vulture are all quite dated and lame.

I would disagree with this Venom is a great character who looks cool but the other older characters are just as good imo like Batmans villains it all deepends on good writing.

Doc Ock is a cold blooded killer genius who spidey still has trouble with in a straight (those damn arms!) fight like in the sinister six storylines where he systematically snaps the necks of a group of scientists one by one until they do what he says.

Kraven and Lizard where scary and tormented in the classic horror spidey stories Torment and Kravens last hunt (I still have the five part Torment story in my attic!!)

Rhino is a bully powerhouse in the strentgh range of Juggernaut and Hulk he is strictly backup to a more intelligent main villan.

Granted Spider-Man 3 didn;t cast Venom right or use him right. But I still like the film. But Venom and Carnage are just so much cooler. Not only in look just in plain bad-assery.

I was talking more about DC heroes only.

I think a lot of people thoughts of Nolan are too constricted. I wouldn't be surprised if he returned and thought a bit outside of the box people tend to put him in.

What's so cool about them? Venom is a loser who blames Spider-Man for his own loserness. Carnage is a one dimensional character who just goes around mindlessly killing.

They are the most bland, one note characters ever. It's no wonder Sam Raimi didn't want to use Venom. The only thing they have going for them is a cool look.

Doctor Octopus, Electro, Lizard, Kraven, Mysterio, Rhino, Scorpion, and Vulture are all quite dated and lame.

I'm sorry, but I think you're so wrong. They have more depth and substance on their worst day than the symbiote villains have on their best day. The best moments in Spidey's history swing heavily on the classic villains. Nothing from Venom or Carnage's story is up there.

Anyway, I think we better knock this off. We're way off topic with this.

Lets stay on topic please. This isnt about Spiderman at all. Its about Batman future film.

With all the anticipation about Riddler being in the next film, I would be a little disappointed but, that would soon pass because after seeing a glimpse of whatever Nolan has in store will be worth anyone appearing and/or not appearing in the film.
