The Dark Knight How will the Dark Knight end?

Cliffhanger's suck.
It does need resolution. Someone mentioned earlier about multiple baddies popping up...
How sweet would it be with a motage of villains... I mean real quick shots of them showing up all over Gotham. Hold on let me write this up...

I do not want System of a Down doing music for a Batmovie. Instrumental, classical, but not something which belongs in a Spider-Man movie.

Modern Rock threw me off in Transformers, so I definitely don't want it in TDK.

okay, I wrote up a quick scripted ending with some of the ideas i saw today, not sure specifically who had what ideas, but you guys came up with it.
It's two pages so I will have to post it in two parts.

here we go.

page one:
Batman is sitting atop a tower, overlooking Gotham’s vast and grim architecture during a torrential downpour.

Flashback dialogue scene to Batman Begins with close ups of both Gordon and Batman.

FBD (Gordon): And then there’s the problem of escalation.

FBD (Batman): Escalation?

End flashback scene, but the dialogue continues as a voice over.

Batman, on the tower lowers his head, his eyes are hidden in shadow as rain pours over his mask, like a vigilant gargoyle.

Voice over Gordon: we get semi-automatics, they get automatics.
Elsewhere in the city, a small banks windows blast outwards in a flash of light as a bomb destroys the lobby. Nearby police rush in the lobby, and back into the vault to find all… I mean all the money gone… a brilliant green question mark is spray painted to the vault’s rear wall. The police call into dispatch for crime scene control.

Flash back to Batman, reaching up to his ear as he listens to his ear radio to the bank vault job.

Voice over Gordon: We get Kevlar body armor, they get armor piercing rounds.
Again somewhere else in the city, there is a dark street corner, and a whisper of a silenced weapon, a police officer falls dead to the ground, next to a victim wearing a high class suit, this is an assassination. The assassin walks out of the darkened alley with his head is lowered, a trench coat barely concealing red body armor. He looks up to reveal that he wears a metal plated mask that hides his features, the only feature being an glowing red eyepiece, inset with yellow crosshairs, his name is Deadshot.

Flash back to the tower as Batman now stands up from his perch. The rain has stopped.

Voice over Gordon: And you’re wearing a mask, and jumping off rooftops.
Gotham city hospital. A nurse walks down the hall, when he hears a bellow of rage and pain, followed by a meeker scream. She runs to the door to see a man in a hospital gown slip out of the window, leaving the room with a doctor dead on the floor, blood covered bandages lying on the sink near a mirror, now shattered split in two.

Back to Batman, as he reaches onto his belt a retrieves his grappling gun, he points it and fires past the camera.

Voice Over Batman: I fight injustice, by turning fear against those who pray on the fearful.

Arkham Asylum. In the hallways a young doctor, petite, blond and cute, walks staring in at patients. She stops at the cell marked John Doe AKA “The Joker” She peers in to see the Joker sans his suit, wearing Arkham orange and a straight jacket. He’s staring at the floor.

Dr. Harleen Quinzel:
And how are we doing today Mr. Joker?

The Joker looks up, his mutilated face without makeup, but still disturbing. He smiles sweetly despite his scars.

The Joker:
Call me Mr. J.

Dr. Quinn tilts her head as if curious to ask, but simply smiles, almost lovingly and walks away. Back in his cell the Joker looks out of a elevated window to the city… as the Bat signal lights up the sky. He begins laughing maniacally.

Across the city, a man wearing a green fedora, green sunglasses, and a green blazer with black slacks looks up from his perch on a roof amidst cases of money to look at the signal. He is frozen to the spot, clutching handfuls of money.

Elsewhere, Deadshot stops from is evacuation route, pistol in hand and looks at the signal. He also is frozen to the spot just glaring at the signal.

Harvey Dent is also staring up at the signal from an unknown location, his normal face staring up at the signal with regret maybe hope. The camera pans around his back to reveal his scarred face, which registers hatred.

Back to Batman, who has secured his grapple line as the signal burns brightly in the sky over his head.

Batman Voice Over:
And my fight has truly just begun.

Batman leaps off the roof toward the camera, Gotham city pans out below him, his cape billowing out into wings, the signal outlining his form.

End.

okay what do you all think?

There'll probably be a teaser but not a cliffhanger at the ending, just as in BB. It's pretty much accepted fact around here that Two Face will show up in this film. Will that be the last scene, however? I doubt it. As cliche as it sounds, the last scene should be the Joker in Arkham. This way even though we have a teaser that batman is going to have to tackle two-face in a future installment we are still reminded that the Joker is not out of the picture yet either....

I think they should leave the entire ending open to go anywhere.

A teaser of all kinds.

We know for a fact Two-Face does appear in TDK. Selina Kyle might be hinted at. AMH could be Nygma.

I'm thinking, leave it open with a montage.

Bruce visiting Rachael's grave.

Batman and Gordon talk about Harvey escaping from the hospital an a new Cat Bugler.

Two-Face killing the cop.

Something is found with a Question mark on it.

A white hand reaches out from the Rubble of an amusement park and is accompanied by increasingly louder insane laughter.

No. Two-Face shows up more than that. In other words, he does a lot more than just kill a cop at a bar (the scene NoirMan watched being filmed). Take that to the bank.

Even Rocky had a montage! (MONTAAAAAAAGE)

edit: really though, a montage is pretty amateurish.

all things are better with a montage...
Team America taught us that.

And what about a credits song?
Would it not be fricking sweet to have SoaD write a song in a Joker theme...
Sorry, I'm listening to their music right now and I'm in that mind set...
I'll stop.

Thank you. It's greatly appreciated.

mightve been mentioned.

but all you see is a man flip a coin with the camera on the guys palm with a scarred coin

a happy ending (not the movie kind).

cookies are good,

g'night everyone.

OOOHHHH, just heard the perfect song for the Joker.
Mr. Jack by System of a Down.
So damn good. I could just see the Joker in full regalia slowly being revealed with this music.

And I really want the movie to end with Joker in Arkham with Harley Quinn being introduced to him, and him saying "call me Mr. J"

Someone's else idea on the thread but it rocked.

I've always despised all that "Mr. J" crapola. it's a fairly new thing I guess starting with the animated series. It 's too cartoony. cut it out! "Mr. J" is so juvenille. good for kiddie joker, i guess, but not for nolans film or most renditions of the character. i just don't like it, it sounds stupid. Leave us say i'm not a fan of Harley Quinn. Joker is not about having girlfriends. he is best treated as an enigma, and a reoccuring nightmare/ hell on earth for Batman. That's it.

About what?:yay:

I hate fan fiction. Why not post legitimate theories instead of stupid scenarios that will never make it on film?

I think it would be nice to see Joker being sent to Arkham and having him meet Harley. Then it would go to a seen of Harvey going into a bar all disfigured and creating a mob.

IF Joker does apply his own make up I'd like it to end where he gets that "Jack Nicholson" Preminate Smile and becomes MORE deranged. I'm thinkin' acid bath. Or MAYBE red hood.:trans:

I'd also like an open end, not so much cliffhanger, but something that gives a strong glimpse for what's coming. TDK will give us at least two hours full of action, drama and deception, so the last twist will be near the end of the movie. Remind of Prestige. The end changed everything.

Do you guys think it's going to be a movie where you have to see the first one or will it be a movie where you don't need to see the first one?
