I had an idea a while ago for TDK ending but it doesn't fit with the possibility of Rachel dying and a Two Face already shown in the movie:

-Shot on Gordon calling Batman with the batsignal
-shot on Rachel Dawes sitting in a hospital room near Harvey, seriously hurt, looking at the batsignal through the window
-shot on Alfred also looking at the batsignal, resigned and a bit sad !
-sho on the Joker inside Arkham, slowly smiling....
-...final shot on Batman, under the rain, on top of a building, rising his head and finally flying through the camera while the JOker's laugh emerges ! At the same time, Joker's laugh continue after the black screen !

I really hope not. If we're going to get Catwoman, I'd rather we actually get to see the whole process of her and Bruce meeting (and then meeting in costume seperately). If they mention her, make it more sinister. Have a flash of a TV news story thats reporting on a series of cat burgularies, or have one of the mob bosses mention hiring her for a job.

joker gets lock up tight at arkham, the mayhem and death and destruction was monstrous.

dent escapes from a state mental institution, killing 2 security guards, goes into hiding, the damage to his face irrepairable. he'll eventually be kingpin of crime in gotham.

bruce meets high class hooker selina kyle at a benifit for the families of jokers victums where she's going thru the crowd pickpocketing and slickly removing watches and jewlery. bruce catches on but she ends up escaping.

edward nygma observes as he has been thruout the movie, he knows who bruce is.

True that the very end of the movie could be Bruce going on a date with Selina (whom we won't possibly see at the end...another cast job for Batman 3 )! I can perfectly see it (moreover, the end won't be, if rumors are true, with Dent in his room discovering his new face for instance)


It would be similar to the end of BB introducing the Joker just through the card: Jonah Nolan may have used the same way to end TDK, this time with another charachter !!!

He'll have already been doing a lot throughout the film before that, so there's not a lot of point in having him being the final scene.

A lot of Dent, but not Two-Face. Idk, it just seems odd they'd reverse the order for those two. Wouldn't it make much more sense to end TDK on a shocking note and not something only the fans would catch on to?

I just can't picture Alfred saying, "...a date with a Ms. Selina Kyle", and fade into black. Most people would be like, "wtf just happened?"

im thinking two-face won't make an apperance until the last quarter of the film. They need to develop harvey's character like tlh did.

I would agree that a montage would work best - Perhaps we see Gordon getting promoted or talking to Batman about his promotion. I can't quite articulate how this would work, but I'd like to see Bruce still struggling with whether or not this is the right thing for him to do...especially since Rachel could be dead and Harvey is now scarred. Someone mentioned him feeling like a failure (and I would agree...TAS captured that perfectly), and I'd like to see the escalation really getting to him. Perhaps he'd be sitting in the cave having those Nolan-flashbacks. We don't actually see the Joker escaping Arkham, rather you see a guard lying face up in the threshold of the Joker's open cell with a bloody smile carved into his face. Rather than have Harvey/Two-Face flip a coin to decide to do or not to do something, I'd like to see him flip a coin asking himself, "who should I off first...the bat or the clown?" He flips the coin into the air, catches it, flips it on top of his hand to reveal, only to himself, who his victim will be. Scene ends with him looking down, as a sick looking smile spreads across his gruesome face. Fade...to...black...

Just my ideas...
