The Dark Knight How will the Dark Knight end?

Bruce leaves Harvey in the hospital. He enters his car.

Alfred: "Where to Master Bruce?"
Bruce "The Ice Bar lounge... I don't want to keep Selina waiting."
Alfred: "Ah yes, your date with Ms Kyle."

Arkham. A figure moves in a dark cell. He approaches the door as Dr Arkham and a couple of young interns walk by. A blonde girl pauses and looks in. The figure becomes clearer... he is the Joker, in a straitjacket. He winks at the intern. She blushes and gives a little wave before catching up with the others.

Thunderstorm above the hospital. A doctor bursts through the doors of the corridor. He collapses with a scalpal extending from his back. Harvey's room is bloody but empty.

The Ice Lounge. Bruce looks around before sitting at his table. The glass roof exposes the nightsky, and the Batsignal beams out. Bruce stands.

From outside the hospital a badly scarred Harvey Dent looks up at the signal, flipping his coin.

I'd love that kind of ending, but with more characters. Light up the batsignal, and cut to all the main characters in their own setting, notice the signal being shown in the sky.

Something about that seems grand.

I would have included Rachel or someone, but I don't know what their fate could be. I don't think Lucius or Alfred are necessary for the ending though.

Eh, depends. I just like it since I don't think any batfilm has shown the signal being looked at by regular citizens in an awe-inspiring way.

By TDK's end, I expect Batman to be fully cemented as Gotham's new hope. Watching characters like Rachel, Gordon, Fox, etc. looking up at literally "their" symbol seems fitting, especially with an epic score to finish the film off.

Yeah, I know what you mean :)

In fact, I'm gonna edit in a new part lol

I like this idea, or having something similar. I wouldn't want to see a montage ending. I don't mind there being a montage thrown in after the climax, but I would like to end it with some dialogue or iconic imagery. And no repeats of BB, like Bruce finding a box with a question mark on his desk or Gordon showing him evidence of a new case, please.

Here's what I heard. At the end Of Dark Night Joker will be put on trial. Harvey Dent will be there.

At the beginning of the third movie Joker will throw a vat of acid on Harvey. Disfiguring his face. Turning him into Two-Face.

Re-edited.

The Ice Bar Lounge. Bruce looks around before sitting at his table. The glass roof exposes the nightsky, and the Batsignal beams out. Bruce stands.

Gordon stands back from the signal. A couple of detectives are beside him.

Montoya: "Is it always gonna be like this?"
Gordon: "We need him, Detective. We need him."

From outside the hospital a badly scarred Harvey Dent looks up at the signal, flipping his coin.

I think Nolan's going to treat this as "his" Star Wars and end this on a pretty bleak note. If they're at all faithful to the comics, Joker's going to "supposedly" die in an explosion or something and that will probably be a result of Batman having to make some difficult choice (presumably saving Harvey).

So yeah, it might end with villains out there (emerging possibly) as a looming dark cloud.

That's how I see it. Begins was similar to A New Hope. TDK should be the rape of Gotham (which, by all the set reports and spy stuff, is exactly what Joker's doing).

Probably like the knife accident in their first meeting.

its been confirmed harvey will already be 2face by the next film.!:cwink:

I'd like to see Joker alive for part 3, escaping from Arkham. That would give Two-Face motivation to be bad and go after killing him, leading to Batman possibly saving the Joker and returning him to Arkham.

Damn, you guys have some good ideas...
anyone here do any writing?
Good imagery, especially Gnisis.

I still like the whole Harley Quinn intro that people have been coming up with.
It justs seems natural to put her into it at the end.

But why does

it will end with a twist....maybe a shake...maybe gordon will be singing in a cafe and bruce will ask for a dance...and they will dance as it fades to the credits

woah how am i first post

Maybe it will end with Batman running infront of a neon Bat-Signal.

(shudders)
please don't say that.
... can't take it
(Falls on ground in fetal position)

Maybe... a drawn out battle with the Joker in his "Coney Island style" hideout, that spills out into the neighbouring dockland... the Cut-smile-Joker then takes a tumble in a vat of chemicals and his body spills out to sea... completing his transformation into Comics-Joker... the film ends with him missing, presumed dead. But we know better. :yay:

If it was going to be bleak, wouldn't The Joker evade capture from Batman and sets in motion Harvey Dent's accident. Batman may save Harvey physically, but the main antagonist of the story got away and is still running amok while Harvey's psyche is just destroyed. Batman fails on both accounts. That's pretty bleak. Like, having Darth Vader's death be implied at the end of Empire Strikes Back would have made the ending less bleak.

A lot of Dent, but not Two-Face.
No, there's a good amount of Two-Face, and Face does some pretty substantial things within the movie itself. Yes, there will be considerably more Dent than there is Two-Face, but it's not like Two-Face is barely there. Two-Face is not reduced to a "sequel set-up."

I just can't picture Alfred saying, "...a date with a Ms. Selina Kyle", and fade into black. Most people would be like, "wtf just happened?"

THE DARK KNIGHT ties up most of its story threads and is pretty much a self-contained film, not contingent on any sequel. The significance of the ending has to do with a story arc about Bruce Wayne despising his life as Wayne and preferring his existence as Batman. It shows that he's going to embrace the Wayne side as well.

OOOHHHH, just heard the perfect song for the Joker.
Mr. Jack by System of a Down.
So damn good. I could just see the Joker in full regalia slowly being revealed with this music.

And I really want the movie to end with Joker in Arkham with Harley Quinn being introduced to him, and him saying "call me Mr. J"

Someone's else idea on the thread but it rocked.

?

And really, any System of a Down song for the most part for Joker.

,
?

Well I'm just glad that it wont be a cliffhanger, because having to wait another three years to see the resolution to it would be awful.

And what about a credits song?
Would it not be fricking sweet to have SoaD write a song in a Joker theme...
Sorry, I'm listening to their music right now and I'm in that mind set...
I'll stop.
