Do you guys think it's going to be a movie where you have to see the first one or will it be a movie where you don't need to see the first one?

You'll need to see the first movie to get a feel for the characters and the city, there's alot of set-up. But the plot in TDK will be mostly self-contained.

My idea.

Harvey (now Two Face) walks into a bar where an off-hours cop sits talking to the bartender. He keeps his head down, and has his collar up, obscuring the scarring on his face as he walks past the two. When the bartender asks if he'd like a drink, he replies that he simply needs to go to the bathroom.

The two eye him suspiciously, but then go back to talking. They're talking about Harvey, and the scarring incident which left one half of his face disfigured. The cop cuts a joke about it, and the bartender laughs, and both don't seem to be too high on Harvey.

The cop goes back to sipping his drink, while the bartender is cleaning off some dirty cups and whatnot. After a second, we hear the bathroom door open off camera, and neither of the two seem to really notice until Harvey's shadow is cast over them. The bartender turns to look, and Harvey shoots him in the eye. The cop drops his glass on to the floor, and reaches for his gun, but Harvey shoots him, though not killing him. Cop drops his gun to grip at his injuries.

Harvey walks over to him, dropping the trench coat and removing the hat, and Two Face is revealed. He debates over whether or not he should shoot the cop, then says he'll flip a coin over it. Two Face flips the coin, but we don't see the result. We just see Two Face smiling and hear the sound of him cocking the gun. Fade to black, end credits roll, and I *** inside of my tighty whities.

We see harvey wake up thinking hes had a bad dream... he notices hes in a damp cold dark room, he cant see..... he feels his face... theres bandages on... he immedatly jumps up outta bed and starts feeling the wall for a gabbling point and makes his way int o a small bathroom where he finds a light switch turns it on and removes the bandages to then hearing screaming coming out and then we see him crawling out and BAM we see his face....

CUT TOO ARKHAM:

we see a long hallway and the camera moves slowly down the hall the closer we ge the louder we hear giggling... all of the sudden we see smoke coming from both sides of the camera as the closer we get to the end of the hallway, people are screaming... theres a door and it opens, we see the joker sittng all tighted up laughing as he looks up we hear a voice in the background say "So youve utlized my toxican have you? Well i promise this time gotham will really suffer, as well as the bat, i promise there wont be a third time"....

basically Rza breaks the joker and the rest of the inmates out again, but only the real good ones not the wussys ones

I wouldn't mind a Batman movie ending on a down note, no happy ending. Ya know, a set for the 3rd movie. BUT that probably won't happen, thats just what I was thinking.

I do not want System of a Down doing music for a Batmovie. Instrumental, classical, but not something which belongs in a Spider-Man movie.

Bravo, 110% correct. Staying on the musical note (not that it should be in the film though), Ryan Adams has wrote a song called Arkham Asylum, its on his website.

I don't want a cliff hanger at all for the ending, but I can see them hinting towards the 3rd with maybe 30 secs of Two-Face action, maybe even one of those after the credits things. Haha, remember heman when skeletors hand came out the stuff after the credits? That kind of thing, hopefully DK will be better than that though.

In my opinion, as these movies are about Bruce Wayne/Batman, the movie needs to end with a scene prominently featuring one of them. Preferably, it should end with a rooftop meeting between Batman and Gordon, where Gordon tells Batman that Harvey has escaped from the hospital, killing two medical personel in the process. Batman will "look into it", and then leap off the building to fly off into the camera.

The above, of course, is just my opinion and idea.

I think salo120 has pretty much the same idea as me, expect for some of how it pans out. Stick with the idea of a bar, a news report and possibly an off duty cop... just for fun lets make him a bit of a dick and a bit corrupt. Anyway, my spin on the idea.

So, Dent walks into the bar, all covered up and heads to the pisser after lookin for it. Bartender eyes him up, then mouths off askin him what he wants, callin him a few racial slurs for no reason other than to be a dick. Bartender turns to the bar starts pouring out some whisky for the cop. A metallic ringing sound is in the background followed by a quick clap and the door to the pisser closing, the bar tender looks up just to catch the door closing.
Cop looks up to the tv, see's the report about dent on the news. Rumor that he bailed from hospital after smashing up half the mirror in the bathroom of his suite, possible kidnapping, no leads or reliable sources on it etc etc. So they make a few jokes, few remarks about his face turning to putty when the acid was thrown onto him, call him clay-face (just for personal lolz there) and some other stuff. Bartender walks back to by the cash registerstill talking about it. He turns back around and see's Dent with his arm raised and a nice classic magnum pointed straight at him. Blows his face all over the bottles/optics lined up behind the bar. The cop craps himself and goes for his gun, Dent pistol whips the cop to the floor and kicks the guy in the gut.
Drops down to his eye level and just stares for a second. The cop looks for his gun then looks back to Dent. Slowly the scarred side of his face starts to grin in a sort of nervous twitch type thing... yea. Points his own gun at the cops face and says,
"Flip for it?"
Camera slowly looks down to the coin in Dent's other hand. He starts to gesture as if he is about to flip the coin and the camera cuts to black, you hear the coin flip, then land. A brief pause, then 4/5 gun shots echo round the cinema. Credits roll.

Mass orgy in the cinema at the birth of a decent sequel movie in many years.

With Nolan directing this, I have no idea -- probably the battles won but the mood is sombre. Joker will live, Two-Face is born.

I would like to see a Batman-Joker conversation in an Arkham cell . . . maybe cut out of the cell but still hearing Joker talking about madness as we see our first glimpse of Two-Face sitting in a darkened room, with shadows over his face. A smoking gun in his hand with a dead criminal -- LOL, Czech Gang member # 3 -- slouched in a chair in front of him. He moves. The shadows don't. We see his face.

Cut to Bat-signal. Gordon and Bats on the roof:

Gordon: If you save any more lives, I'm gonna blow you.
Batman: I told you last time that you would never have to thank me.
Gordon: I know, I just really want to.
Batman: I'm Batman.
Gordon: I know . . .

Yes and no, I'd rather it be at a high society event and we just see the back of her head or something. Never been a big fan of the cat-hooker back story.

It should end with Batman returning from Manhattan Island with the President. Turning over a tape with swing music on it that will be played at the President's press conference because he thinks its his tape on nuclear fusion. While the swing music is playing and the President is completely dumbfounded, Batman will be seen walking away and pulling out the tape to the cassette which has the President's nuclear fusion speech on it.
