Make it anyway, I'll laugh. :o

16 is the Age of Consent in England, nothing you can do 'bout it.

Unless you Dad has a sawn off shotgun in the shed.

Oh, I'll definitely have a shotgun. And a 9mm. And an M16A2. And a bat.

If your fine with it, and she is fine with it, and the law is not against it - I see no problems.

I'm going to have to agree with USMC here. Especially based off of Edd's attitude.

Edd, think about it this way. Soon enough, you'll be old enough to go to bars and clubs with your friends. What about her?? She'll be too busy doing homework!! She can't drink! You're at two different stages of your lives!!

Some questions for Edd.

1. Do her parents know you're dating her?
2. What do you do with most of your time with her? Be honest. I'm willing to bet it's mostly lying around and/or groping each other. I had a similar relationship a few years ago.

Edd makes the argument that he "doesn't act like a man". If anything, that makes things worse. The last thing a girl of 16 needs is a 20 year old that acts like he's 16. Its gonna **** up her perspective of men.

Well done for ****ing up her life. Not too late to do the right thing.

4 years isn't too much, but your trouble is, it's the WRONG four years. If she was 20 and you were 24, it wouldn't be any big deal. I would check the statuatory rape laws, and if she doesn't meet the age of consent, I suggest you keep it at second base until she is

Pretty lady has it right on the button nose.

So I'm currently involved with this girl, and we've hung out and stuff, made out a couple times, etc. But I feel like a scumbag because I'm 20 and she's 16, soon to be 17. Do you think I'm too old to be seeing her? Or should I keep seeing her? While I don't like to get too personal, this is something I'd like to see an outside opinion on.

Well, of course you are a scrumbag, scrumbag. Serious through, does her parents know? I wouldn't tell your parents through...or friends...16 is young.

I do act older, but when I say I don't act like a man I mean I like to have fun. In my experience people get around 20-22 start getting serious and I just like to have fun.

And to answer your questions:
1. No, we've only been like seeing eachother for like a week.
2. We usually hang out with some friends and talk. We only makeout before she goes in or something.

I like it how everyone is coming off as helpful at first, then being a rude d**khead.

Your friend that did stuff with a 14 year old when he was 18 .. wow. I'm 18 right now, and honestly hooking up with someone that young .. is so wrong, dude.

I agree with a few other people, though. Just wait 'til she turns 17, and go for it then. No problem.

I just love how the people went from being helpful to some ******* bashing me. Nice touch.

If you've only been dating her for a week, why are you taking things so seriously?

The fact that you had to make a topic asking people says so much. Dump her already.

You never answered my question. Next year you and I'm sure a lot of your friends will be 21. That means more of the bar or club scene if you are into that. Not really a place you can bring a 17 year old girl.

Oh, that short of a time? If you really feel like the age difference is a problem (and it DOES sound illegal, but I guess that depends on where you live? I didn't go through the whole thread to find out if you knew the laws for your region hehe), then instead of just "dumping her" in the blunt way that many people are suggesting, sit down and explain to her why you don't want to continue seeing her. It's only been a week, so chances are she won't take it too hard.

I think your Mum is upset that I haven't been around to see her in awhile :(

 Dude, YOU asked for everyone's opinion. Mine happens to be personal, not hypothetical.

Then you don't answer the question of wether or not you would let your own 16yr old daughter make out with a 20 year old adult. Then you continually say how you don't act like a "man", as if that garners you any sympathy from the peanut gallery.

A 20 year old boy who likes to make out with a 16 year old girl he's only been "hangin' with" for about a week, likes her because she's SO mature, will only "probably" dump her if her parents had a problem with it, and feels the need to announce it ONLINE to a group of strangers to gauge their opinions... after about a week of seeing her.

In a week, you already know how "mature" she is. In a week, you already make out with her. Yeah, uh huh.

I'm almost 30 and I have more fun now than I ever had in my life, which shows how narrow-minded you are about what it is to be an adult, and leave behind the childish ways of a teenager.

My opinion (since YOU asked for it) is to grow the **** up and quit acting like you're still capable of hangin' with the Brat Pack. You're showing no respect for yourself, her, her parents, or any other friend of hers that sees a grown adult making moves on a child.

I'll ****in rue the day that some 20 year old geek even looks the wrong way at my 16 year old minor daughter, he'll get a boot in his grill and a bat over his skull.

Also, remember to make sure your tux matches her dress...

You know you see this type of stuff on Lifetime movies all the time and it doesn't end to well for the older guy. If I were I would say call me in 2 years.

Statutory rape.

Unless you have the parents' permission. In this type of case it's a good idea to talk to the dad if you want to date her. Or wait until she is 18.

16 is legal in Pennsyvania. Says nothing about the other person having to be at the most 2 years older.
